Notts County secure Manchester United defender Sonny Aljofree on season-long loan
He's a very good signing by Notts & he comes to the club with a very good reputation. Coming from Man United too is a great coup for Notts. The Man U academy is one of the best, if not the best academy in the Country. I don't think that he would have come to Notts if he wasn't going to play a fair number of games in the Notts first team. I think that Martin Paterson has a lot to do with him coming to Notts. Another good thing about this signing is that Notts are getting a good reputation for bringing on academy players signed from PL clubs. George Abbott was a success story. I wouldn't bet against Sonny Aljofree having the same impact & success.

New signing Sonny Aljofree I assume
We have a new Head Coach in Town & I'm sure he's had input into the acquisition of Sonny Aljofree. Every single Notts player doesn't have a right to a first team place. Every single one of them are going to have to justify to the new Head Coach why he should pick them in the starting eleven. So we are going to have to wait & see what his opening league 2 team sheet against Newport will be. I suspect all options are on the table.

New signing Sonny Aljofree I assume
He's a good signing for Notts & comes to Notts with a good reputation. Somehow, I don't think that Man U have sent Sonny to Notts to sit on the substitutes bench. Sonny had 25 games at Accrington, where by all accounts he was well liked. I'm sure that he will be expected to get a regular place in the Notts defence Sonny needs plenty of game time. & I suspect that he will get that at Notts. This means that there may be a player or two either being sold or sent on loan from Notts.

Martin Paterson Reflects on SV Darmstadt 98 Defeat but Sees Plenty of Positives
I can feel that the Notts fan base have become much more encouraged for the season after listening to Martin's interviews since he becomes Head Coach. There is a determination to succeed in Martin's rhetoric & I am beginning to believe that a Martin Paterson Notts team will be subtly different to a Stuart Maynard one I don't think that the latest video of Notts players training with weights & practicing boxing moves was released by accident. I think that Martin does want the Notts players to be tougher, stronger & more physical than we've seen them during the last few years. The players are definitely going to see a different kind of regime at Notts from the ones we have been used to recently.

- Match Discussion: FC Kaiserslautern v Notts.
The 2nd match on Notts County's three match tour of Germany is against Bundesliga 2 side FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday 12th July at 12:30 BST at their Fritz Walter Stadium. This match will be another tough test for Notts, but Head Coach Martin Paterson welcomes these matches against higher league opposition. Martin believes that Kaiserslautern will be an even tougher test for Notts than Notts faced in their first match against Darmstadt & that match was tough especially in the first half. We could see Martin play what he believes is his strongest team as his starting eleven however, I believe he will continue to give the whole squad & trialists a run out at some point in the game.- Weather Updates

Chelsea will face PSG in the Club World Cup Final on Sunday after PSG thrashed Real Madrid 4:0 in their semi final.- Didzy joins Barnsley
So the speculation about David McGoldrick's future has been answered tonight. Many of us thought that David would hang up his boots after refusing an offer of an extension to his contract at Notts. He has opted to join League one outfit Barnsley on a one year contract. Barnsley finished mid table last season, & with Didzy they will hope to push on & at least make the playoffs this time. It will be interesting to see how they use him & whether it will be by super sub or for 60 mins of a game. No matter how he is used, they have secured a quality player who I'm sure will score a few goals for them & provide quality upfront or behind a striker. I was sorry to see him leave Notts, but he has been a great servant for Notts & I do hope he has a brilliant season for Barnsley.- Didzy joins Barnsley

No shame in losing to a team of Darmstadt's quality. Notts played much better in the second half & deserved their goal. Well taken goal by Grant after good build up play.- Match discussion: PSF - Darmstadt 98
