Reading steffen Højer's wiki & what he is doing as Manager of the Denmark under 21s who he's guided to the Euro under 21 Championship quarter finals, & with the opportunity of going further, I would be very happy to see him as Head Coach at Notts. But are Notts really in the running? If they are it would be a great capture.

If I won all that money I would love to buy Notts & invest in ways that would eventually get Notts into the Premier League, then into Europe. I would appoint a person with expertise to run the club day to day & appoint a football management team to recruit the best players at each level to ensure success for the club Notts would need a stadium to be able to match that sucees, so I would look at ways to be able to increase the capacity of Meadow Lane up to 40 K if it were possible. ML is the heart and soul of the club and I would be very reluctant to leave our famous old ground, but I'm not sure whether it could be extended to hold that amount. If Notts had to move from Meadow Lane I would still keep the stadium for the Notts Women to play their matches there. Of course the Notts supporters would have to be won over, but the new stadium wouldn't be just a soulless bowl. It would have to be similar in some way to ML with plenty of car parking space & easy access. The oldest professional Club winning the Champions League, followed by the World Club Championship would really be something. You never know, it could happen one day if a very rich benefactor came in with the same intention. We've seen it with other clubs so it is possible.

Good afternoon all. It's been a beautiful morning here. It warmed up very fast and looks like it will be the hottest day of the year here. I was up early to it the lawn before it became too hot. Will finish off trimming the hedges tomorrow morning. Just be careful to put on plenty of factor 50+ when in the sun more than a few minutes. It is very powerful as we approach the longest day of the year.The longest day is the 21st June. Can't believe it's a few days till the longest day then after about a five day pause the daylight will start to reduce once again. We've also been busy this morning assembling our desk top fans to combat the heat this weekend.

@Cliftonpie It appears Jatta has been given a 3 match suspension in addition to the 3 match suspension for the straight red card. He's missed one match, being the 2nd playoff leg against Wimbledon. So it looks like he will miss the first 5 matches of the new season.

I do hope that this appointment will improve the Notts academy players chances of graduating to the first team. We do have some academy players that have shown plenty of promise, so it would be big to have a player get a regular place in the first 11. I agree. All important academy news such as important announcements should be on the official Notts site. Match fixtures & results should be on the Notts academy site. Fixtures, match reporting and results are not reported consistently. This needs to change I think.

I agree that Jatta won't be sold during this transfer window. I think that the owners have already built the team around him to a certain extent, & with Didzy going, if Jatta was sold, it would weaken the Notts attack in a big way. I also think that his value may have come down since last Xmas when speculation about him being transferred was rife. I'm sure the owners would like to see him perform as he did at the beginning of last season & if he did that his value would rise again.

Good evening. It's been a lovely warm day again here. The temperature is rising & the weathe looks fair for the weekend. Spent some time in the garden again just doing the usual garden maintenance. Plan to get up early tomorrow to cut the lawn & afterwards will be watering the young plants.

I agree that Macca & Cedwyn could have been a good striking partnership for Notts if given the opportunity.. Notts tried to convert Cedwin to an attacking midfielder rather than put him alongside Macca, but it just didn't happen unfortunately. Would be great to see Macca back at the Lane one day. You can get success on the cheap, but the vast majority of Clubs realise that you have to invest in the best players for that level to get success.
