@menzinho Platt made the most appearances for Notts this season with 47. He was featured in every poll in the matches he played. He was very consistent & he did get votes from the members, but there was always another player who's performance stood out on the day.

This is very sad news at the weekend. Losing our best player is a big body blow. Not just as a player, but the respect he has from the players & fans. I'm beginning to get concerned. The Club is not going to get promoted on a shoestring budget & you can't get promoted recruiting up and coming players only. Notts were very lucky with Langstaff & Jatta but they are exceptions to the rule During the last third of the season the recruitment was poor when it needed to be experienced players that could deal with the additional pressure at the top of the league & playoffs. I do believe that the owners should possibly turn to additional investors to boost the finances of the club, so that the Club can recruit players that can take the club to the next level. That would be my ambition for the Club. Do the owners have a similar ambition or not?

I don't think the owners will have him back purely because of the cost to the Club. The Club at this point has to pay it's way. The owners are more likely to be looking at strikers from the non league again. I think the same thinking will decide where the new Head Coach will come from too. Prepare for some players to be sold off for profit too. Jatta, Platt & Bedeau, are 3 of Notts most valuable players that are sure to be on other Club's lists.

So it appears that Adam Hinshelwood has become one of the the favourites to replace Maynard. Another National League Manager. A think Notts need an experienced League 2 Manager to get out of this league.
