  1. Is the York City co-owner right? York City co-owner says National League promotion 'not fit for purpose' WWW.BBC.CO.UK York City co-owner Julie-Anne Uggla writes to the EFL and National League about the...
  2. There would have already been conversations at the Club about the type of players that the Club should be looking for. I'm sure those conversations would have included the coaching staff, (one has now left), along with the Head of Football & the board. My concern is that any players that are recruited now will not have had the blessing/input of the new Coaching staff, & I think that is an important point, & this fact could obstruct/affect the recruitment of an experienced & leading Head Coach that Notts need at this time.
  3. The guy was never given much of an opportunity. Sometimes it needs a Head Coach that can get the best out of certain players. We can't say that Maynard got the best out of him. On one of the very small opportunities he did have he scored a goal. Another point. Although a new Head Coach hasn't been appointed Notts are still letting go of players. Shouldn't Notts have waited for the new Head Coach before letting these players go?. Who's making the decisions?
  4. Nice morning here. It's warm with a small breeze. The weather people are expecting a lower pressure system to cross the British Isles tomorrow. Make the most of today.
  5. I think the first week in June will be an important one for Notts. The new coach needs to be appointed before this week is out & the work to recruit suitable players for a promotion push needs to proceed soon after. I think that League 2 is going to be a strong competitive league next season. Four teams coming down from League 1, Crawley, Bristol R, Shrewsbury, & Cambridge, will have a point to prove, then there's Colchester, Chesterfield, Salford, Crewe, Walsall, Grimsby & not forgetting MK Dons who will all be tough cookies to compete against. On paper, the coming season in League 2 will maybe see a dozen decent teams, including Notts, competing for three automatic promotion places. I think it's going to be much harder for Notts next season no matter who is appointed as Head Coach. I think League 2 will be much stronger, & I think that only the most consistent teams, results wise, will get success in 25/26. So what do my fellow PON members think about Notts's prospects this coming season. Do you think Notts can achieve automatic promotion or is the playoffs the most we can hope for? Who will be those teams that Notts have to look out for & do you think it will be a harder task to achieve promotion next season. Are you hopeful?

  12. It's not hard. Just appoint a good experienced league 2 Head Coach, who can lead, coach & manage. A leader who can quickly garner respect from his players & can get the best out of them, who knows the vast majority of players who play in league 2. And a manager who is not afraid to change the shape & style of playing if the existing shape & style isn't working. And last but not least, a manager that can use his substitutes to change a game if necessary.
  13. It's been a pleasant day here. Managed to get out into the garden to remove the dead spring flowers & prepare the ground for the summer ones. It's been a good spring for the larger plants. Pride of place goes to our Hydrangea that is looking the best I've seen it for a while & it looks like we will get a good crop off our two apple trees this summer. Of course it's essential to ensure that the plants get water during the dry spell. We've had a good amount of rain recently which has helped.
  14. Nice to see Oldham back in the EFL but gutted for Southend who succumbed to two late Oldham goals in extra time after they had been leading. If only.
  15. Fans are mentioning Didzy's appearances. Didzy played 36 league games for Notts including 7 as substitute. He scored 17 goals from those 36 games. When you compare his appearances with other players. Appearances as substitute included. Ness 7. McDonald 19 Macari 33 Grant 34 Gordon 30 Austin 25 Robertson 8 Edwards 16 Jones 22 Tsaroulla 38 Didzy's appearances & fitness record this season compare very favourably with all those major players.
  16. It was against Alfreton. Jevani scored two goals & played superbly. Of course it was against non league opposition, but he did show that evening what he was capable of.

  21. Totally agree @Pies79 I'll always be grateful to the brothers coming in and saving Notts and getting us back to the EFL. But have they taken Notts as far as they can with the amount of investment they are prepared to put in?
  22. It hasn't been a good day for the supporters of Notts. We've lost our talisman who held this team together during the last third of the season. Without Didzy Notts may have been in the bottom half of the table. We don't know all the circumstances why he didn't agree to an extension. It may not have been just down to the money. Was Didzy unhappy about Maynard leaving or something else about the running of the club? We will never know the answer to that question. Notts are a big club with brilliant support at this level, & they should be able to attract good experienced Head Coaches & players. I do hope we get some good news in the coming days to lift the gloom.
