Bradford City had a busy summer transfer window signing 8 players & releasing 8, Their signings included forward Jake Beesley, Midfielder Henry Cartwright, & Goalkeeper Jon McCracken. Notable releases were Paul Mullin & Jenson Metcalfe. Bradford play an aggressive high energy & direct counter attacking style of football under Manager Graham Alexander. It will be interesting to see how Martin Paterson approaches this match with Notts being the home side. Every game in League 1 for Notts is going to be very difficult & this match on Saturday will be no exception. Notts will have to be at their absolute best once again. Bradford will bring around 2300 fans, so it should be a good atmosphere. I don't see many changes to the Notts line up for this match. Head Coach Martin Paterson will probably pick the same starting 11 that faced Huddersfield. I believe that Notts will get their 2nd win of the season. A 2:1 win would do nicely.

I think that the Notts squad has progressed to another level since that start of the 26/27 season. The players are completely behind Martin Paterson's his footballing style & work ethic. The playoff games last season was a taster for things to come but I do believe the Notts recruitment over the summer that was sure to have Paterson's imprint all over it, has taken Notts to that higher level. I'm beginning to come to the idea that Paterson could possibly finish up being Notts County's best Head Coach/ Manager since Warnock if the continuous improvement continues. I do hope that it does.

I think that our defensive prowess has improved out of all recognition under Martin Paterson. When you consider how Notts used to be susceptible to crosses in open play, corners, free kicks into the box, & long throws. This has changed during the 5 games played this season. I thought that Ness was the pick of the back line on Saturday, he was a rock at the back, especially in the air, although Gibbons, Bedeau & later Baker played well too. All of the squad who played on Saturday played their part but for me Ness just edged it over Cooper who would have been my 2nd choice .
