  1. My standouts today are Platt before he went off, Iorpenda, & McDonald when he came on. I also thought Jones played well in the first half. I think it is a very close call for my favourite to take this week's gong. I could easily have chosen Iorpenda, but I'm going for Jodi because he is getting back to the player we know he is.
  2. Hundred League goals for York City & Stuart Maynard.
  3. I'd go with that. Accrington are a footballing side so hopefully Notts will get some room to play. Tsaroulla at number 10 could work out quite well. Jodi is currently in great form and he got two virtual assists today. Notts do prefer when there is more room to play. After Norburn was dismissed the game opened out & Notts were much more threatening. I think that we just ran out of steam in the 2nd half today which was unfortunate.
  4. I think we missed Lee Ndlovu today. His physically upfront makes a difference & he puts himself about. I also think that it would have been much better for Notts to have played a back three for the whole game, & I think I would have brought Grant on instead of Hall in the 2nd half. I do like Norburn because he does bring something extra to the team, but his petulance at times is costing us. He will now have to serve a one match ban & will be missing against Accrington as will Ndlovu who has to serve 1 more game of his 3 game ban. There is a worry about Platt going off injured, but on the positive side, Palmer & Jatta came through unscathed after their returns. As I have said, Norburn & Ndlovu will be missed & Patto will have to make changes to the side that started today.
  5. Remarkably, results have favoured Notts with the clubs chasing us for a playoff place. Three of those clubs lost so Notts remain 8 points ahead of the teams in 8th, 9th & 10th positions, & Notts have a vastly superior goal difference too. So there's still a healthy gap to those places.
  6. Looking at the latest scores with the top three winning and a gap opening up it looks like Notts need to concentrate on securing a top two playoff place.
  7. A defeat for Notts today after they had Norburn sent off after 20 minutes after a 2nd yellow card. Notts showed lots of spirit in the first half & came back to draw at half time after going behind twice, but Chesterfield took control in the 2nd half & got the inevitable winner to inflict a 2nd home defeat in succession for Notts So who is you Man of the Match for Notts. There were certainly some good performances in the first half to pick from. There are the players that I have chosen for you to pick your favourite. I didn't include Norburn. Belshaw, McDonald, Platt, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Palmer, Jones, Iorpenda, Tangen, Dennis, Macari.
  8. Once again, a team has come to Meadow Lane & beaten Notts in the tactical battle. The Norburn sending off changed the game. When a player is on a yellow card they shouldn't do anything silly but Norburn throwing a boot off the pitch was a big risk to take. I thought that Chesterfield got all the fifty fifties from the Ref today. I counted 7 yellow cards & one sending off. Notts were always going to struggle to get anything out of this match after that. They showed lots of spirit in the first half coming back twice, but Chesterfield played well in the 2nd half & Notts only had one header on goal. We have to move on from this defeat. Hope the injury to Platt is not serious. At least Palmer got some minutes & Jatta 15 minutes or so at the end. Both players will be vital for Notts's chances in the last 10 games.
  9. (46) Back to it.Notts 2 Chesterfield 2
  10. GOOOOOAAAAAL OWN GOAL.GOOOOOAAAAAL PLATTHalf timeWhat a half we have seen. Notts down to ten men after 20 minutes, but they have showed tremendous spirit to come back twice. An own goal from a Jones cross for Notts first goal, & another great cross sees Platt follow up after Dennis is denied by their goalkeeper, for the Notts equaliser in first half injury time.
  11. It's a strong match squad. Great to see Palmer back alongside Norburn. And Jatta on the bench is a big boost. I'm pleased McDonald is back in the starting 11. Tangen makes his first start in a home match. Iorpenda in a more forward role could be a vital change too. Notts need to start well. The Match is underway.
  12. Today's Notts team Palmer's back. Jatta on the bench
  13. It is frustrating for fans when they want to be able to know exactly what the situation is regarding the state of the injuries & the Club is not forthcoming, but I do think that the Club is right not to divulge too much info to their opponents, especially the injury situation. What we can gather from the limited information from Martin is that the injured players are making progress to regain their match fitness, but Robbo's situation is less certain. As for Adam Hassell, I think he has grown into his role as a match commentator for Notts & his partnership with Stall is developing nicely. There's certainly a good connection between both of them which adds to the entertainment for listeners.
