  12. Great win for the Panthers over their arch rivals Sheffield Steelers Saturday evening at a packed out Motorpoint Arena.
  13. Beautiful morning here once again. Blue sky, not a cloud to be seen The weather takes me back to the summer of 1973 when I went with my parents on holiday to the Norfolk broads for two weeks. I'll always remember the beautiful weather we had. For the whole of the two weeks we experienced almost unbroken sunshine every single day with temperatures in the mid 70s & above.
  14. We've seen the usual twitter meltdown during & after the match had finished, but I don't think that it is helpful. The team is clearly struggling at the moment & there are many reasons for it. 1.The number of injuries to key players that keeps happening nearly every other match. 2.Selling Dan Crowley who was a massive player for us, to try to recoup some money from his transfer. 3.A poor January transfer window where the squad was actually weakened rather than strengthened. 4.And big was the Saunders brothers leaving followed by Montague. Their leaving has clearly disrupted & affected the Notts squad. Key will be getting our key players like Jodi & Didzy back. Didzy makes such a big difference to the team. He inspires & leads by example. Notts are so missing him. We have what we have, but we need to get behind the team. We still have a very good opportunity of reaching the playoffs, even if the automatics don't look so certain now..
  15. Leafield are having a tremendous season & are in the mix to win the league and with it promotion. It will be tough for Notts to get a positive result here, but Notts have shown that they are competitive in every match they've played this season. Notts will need to rely on their greatly improved defence to keep them in the game as long as possible & try to hit Leafield on the break when they can. If Notts can steal a draw it would be a tremendous result for them. I will post updates of the match when I get them. CMON U PIES!!
  16. Yes, the Saunders brothers going & coupled with Richard Montague leaving has been a big blow to Notts. We have to remember that all those people in authority at Notts would have supported each other when preparing for a match & would give feedback after a match had been played. There would have been a lot of preparation & plans made on how to deal with a specific team. Plans would have been laid to change the shape of the team during the match if things were not going to plan. The Saunders brothers knowhow would have been important in this preparation. With these three important people leaving Stuart has suddenly lost all that support & It must be affecting the team to. But another big thing that has affected Stuart's plans & made it terribly difficult for him, is the number of players that have been injured & that figure seems to remain consistent at around 6 players. Kudos to Maynard for keeping the team competitive despite all of these injuries, but I do think that these injured players coupled with a poor January transfer window, where the recruitment was very weak, is also affecting Stuart's ability to keep selecting a competitive team. In conclusion no one is discussing why the Saunders brothers & Montague may have left when they did, but them leaving for me is the biggest reason why the team may now be struggling, & I'm surprised the Reedtz brothers haven't tried to address this.
  17. My four players that stood out were Jacob Bedeau, Alassana Jatta, and the two players that came on as substitutes at the start of the 2nd half, Macari & McDonald. Out of those four on my shortlist I agree with @menzinho Rod McDonald defended well in the 2nd half & he is my Notts Man of the match. Stuart needs to play him from the start against Grimsby.
  18. Notts have again had some results gone for them this afternoon. Bradford lost. Doncaster drew Port Vale drew Crewe drew The only team that won from the top eight apart from Wimbledon were Grimsby. Notts travel to Grimsby on Tuesday which will be a mammoth game. League 2 table after all completed matches today. Notts in fifth place.
  19. Notts were soundly beaten by AFC Wimbledon today. The only gilt headed chance for Notts fell to Jatta who hit the bar in the second half. Other than that, chances for Notts were at a premium. The only positive thing was that Notts didn't concede in the 2nd half. The players I have selected for you to choose you Pride of Nottingham's Man of the match are the starting 11 & 2 players that came on as substitutes at the start of the 2nd half. Bass,Bedeau,Platt,Hinchy, Grant,Whitaker,Palmer, Tsaroulla,Johnson,Jatta, Abbott,McDonald,Macari
