Another lovely mild day here. Almost wall to wall sunshine once again. Had a food delivery this morning. Prices keep going up & the food order seems to get smaller and smaller for the same price. I can remember feeding a family of five for £9 a week in the middle seventies. Those were the days.- Robbie Cundy to Solihull Moors on Loan
Sometimes I wonder about how Notts do their research on a player. I know that they study how they play and whether they will fit into the Notts style or not. Talking generally, I wonder if Notts do personality tests like other employers do. A few players have been loaned out or have failed to get selected. These players seem to have the talent to succeed but I do wonder if there is something else that puts them out of favour. Could it be personality?- Announcement: Community Updates and Forum Changes - February 27
I'm pleased with this decision. Plenty of opportunities for people to post their political views & opinions on other social media. Politics has become very devisive and it is a wise move for PON to shut the door on it.- Nice article on Didzy
Notts need him back on the playing field as soon as possible. Notts play much better with him being in the side. Jatta isn't the same player without him either.- New rule change for goalkeepers next season
I think one thing the authorities could do to keep the game flowing could be to stop goalkeepers catching & holding the ball altogether. A goalkeeper could punch crosses away or deflect shots with their hands. If the goalkeeper has to hold the ball from a shot or from the air, a throw in could be awarded to the attacking side 18 yards from the defensive goal line. I'm sure penalising the goalkeeper like that from catching & holding the ball would reduce it to a minimum & keep the game flowing.- Prediction league 24/25 round 35 - Tuesday 4 March
Waiting with baited breath who finishes up in the latest 1,2 & 3- Joe Palmer formally made a director of Notts County
I think Notts are missing Richard Montague leaving more than people realise. I think that he used to work well with Stuart Maynard. I don't think that it is surprise that the Notts form has dropped off since Richard left. Coupled with the fact that Craig & Matt Saunders left at a similar time too, those three leaving are sure to have disrupted the Club in lots of ways. I'm sure that the players miss Craig & Matt on the training ground & Stuart misses Richard too.- Do Notts Have Automatic Promotion In Their Own Hands?
Notts have five matches to play now in the month of march. Wimbledon away. Grimsby Away. Chesterfield at home. Crewe at home. Newport away. I think at least three wins has now become essential if Notts have any chance of getting automatic promotion. The fact that four of those teams are challenging in or around the play offs make it even more important for Notts to get at least three wins against three of those challenging teams.- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
Notts could have won last night along with everyone else around us and we would have been no better off. Notts have had a break and need to make it pay against Wimbledon. That game will be a genuine six pointer.- Who is your Man of the Match v Barrow?
My four stand out players are Nick Tsaroulla, Kellan Gordon, Matty Platt & Conor Grant. Two of my players were substitutes that came on midway through the 2nd half, Grant & Tsaroulla, but they did make a big difference & could easily have helped Notts avoid defeat with a bit more luck. Of the other players I picked Matty Platt & Kellan Gordon were heads above those who started the match. For me it was a close run thing between the four, but my choice is going to go to Conor Grant who also scored the Notts goal- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
Notts didn't play well and deserved all they got. But other teams around them lost too. Notts have been fortunate with the other results.. Notts need to reset and prepare for Wimbledon away which will be absolutely massive. Notts still have automatic promotion in their hands. They just need to grasp it and believe just like Bradford are doing right now.- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
It was a poor performance tonight, no getting away from it. Just one win in the last 5 matches with two draws and two defeats has stopped the Notts momentum. I think we are now competing for the third promotion spot now. Bradford have found form & are pulling away from us The next six matches will decide our fate whether it will be the automatics or not. Wimbledon away Grimsby Away Chesterfield at home Crewe at home. Newport Away MK Dons at home Six games that will determine our fate this season. I think we will need four wins as a minimum plus a draw to stay in contention. Incidentally, if we did get four wins & a draw that would probably seal a playoff place I think that beating Wimbledon Chesterfield & Crewe would be big. We need Didzy back too.- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
If we look at it another way Notts have been fortunate tonight & haven't lost any ground apart from the fact that Walsall & Bradford now look favourites to take the top two places, so I think Notts are now competing for that third spot By the end of Match we will know if Notts will still be challenging for an automatic spot or not. The injuries are not helping us & I don't think the new players are stepping up for us just yet.- Who is your Man of the Match v Barrow?
A dissapointing defeat tonight against Barrow. It was a poor first half & Notts didn't improve until the substitutions mid way through the second half. I have included 2 players who came on as substitutes in addition to the starting 11 for you to choose your PON Man of the Match. The following 13 players are:- Bass, Gordon, Bedeau, Platt, Traore, Whitaker, Palmer, Macari, Abbott, Jatta, Jarvis, Grant, Tsaroulla. Please vote for your man of the match & tell us why you voted for him.- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
League 2 table after tonight's matches. Notts still in fourth place due to favourable results around them.- League 2 Watch. 2024/25
Notts have lost but results have gone generally in Notts favour tonight. Doncaster, Wimbledon & Crewe have lost. Walsall & Port Vale drew. Only team around Notts that won was Bradford. They are looking good for the automatics.- Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Bluebirds (H)
