  1. I agree @liampie about him being treated unfairly. I wonder how he would have performed with our present defence and central midfield in front of him? I'm sure that he may have performed better. Some players do perform better when they are surrounded by good players.
  2. Not much time for Notts before the January transfer window closes. With just two senior goalkeepers at the Club it does leave Notts at risk if one or both their goalkeepers become injured. Notts could of course, bring in a goalkeeper in an emergency loan deal if they did lose a goalkeeper to injury, but they won't have much control in who they may get in.
  3. Pity that it didn't work out for Aiden at Notts. Hope it works out for him & he does find a suitable Club nearer his family home in the south west.
  4. Aidan Stone leaving Notts just leaves the Club with two senior goalkeepers.
  5. Aidan Stone’s contract has been mutually terminated to allow him to pursue opportunities closer to his family home in the south-west
  6. @liampie UEFA fined Chelsea €10million (£8.6m, $11m) for historical breaches of its Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. The organisation added that the fine settled the matter and Chelsea would not face any sporting sanctions.15 Jan 2025 The FA are yet to charge Chelsea for breaking FFP rules despite the above fine from UEFA. 7. A beautiful morning here. Not a cloud in the Sky. The sun is getting brighter too. Sad news from the US this morning with two aircraft colliding in mid air above Washington Airport overnight. Apparently a commercial Jet carrying 64 souls collided with an Army helicopter carrying 3 Army personnel. It appears that the wreckage fell into the Potomac river.
  8. Lincoln was a major political and economic centre for centuries. Medieval era: Lincoln was a major trading center and the capital of England's largest diocese. 17th–19th centuries: Lincoln was a wealthy town known for its wool trade Roman era: Lincoln was the capital of the Roman province of Flavia Caesariensis, which covered eastern England. The Romans called the city Lindum Colonia. Anglo-Saxon era: Lincoln became the capital of the Kingdom of Mercia. Boston & Kings Lynn were major historical ports, especially in the middle ages. 9. The top six clubs in English Football always seem to be untouchable from any possible sanctions that may be considered for possible wrongdoings. Any other club that steps out of line or even inadvertently breaks the rules, always seem to get almost instant justice, either by a points deduction or a large fine. I don't think that even a football regulator would be able to touch the untouchables.
  10. The thread wasn't about our recognised strikers, it was about players at the club such as defenders or midfielders that could fill in for the striking role if our strikers became injured. Does the team train for this possibility and which players could fill in as an emergency striker if necessary?

  12. Looks like George Abbott is well in the lead. Can he be beaten? Poll closes 30/01/25 at 21:00.

  14. Nice to see that Notts have moved on.
  15. League 2 Match 29/01/25 7:45pm kick off. Barrow 1-3 Doncaster Doncaster move 2 points above Notts with this win at struggling Barrow, but have now played a game more than Notts.
  16. I go by the adage, when Notts tweet it, I'll believe it.
  17. Do Notts have an emergency Striker to play upfront just incase Jatta & McGoldrick get injured? I'm not talking about a defender going up front if one of our strikers have to go off injured When on the training ground, do Notts actually have players practicing the attacking role in line with the Notts style of play? If I was a reporter I'd ask that very question. We've seen Robbie Cundy come on as a substitute & play upfront a couple of times but that appeared more ad hoc than anything. So who would be able to fill the roll of an emergency Striker? I'd possibly go for Ness, Tsaroulla or Grant. So who would you choose as your emergency Striker & should Notts plan for this on the training ground?
  18. I was very pleased when the news came through that George will be staying with Notts till the end of the season. George is pure quality at this level and he can look to an excellent future in the PL if he continues to develop which I'm sure he will. It took a moment of quality to win the match for Notts on Tuesday evening against Carlisle, & George provided it with a magnificent pinpoint cross onto Jatta's head, who did the rest. I'm sure George will continue to play a big part in Notts's promotion push.
  19. Form table for the last eight games.
