  1. The poll has now closed. Thanks to all of you that voted. I am absolutely delighted that by a narrow margin, on his return to the Notts team, Dan Crowley has been voted as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Salford. Well Done to Dan and welcome back to the Notts team.
  2. I eat cottage cheese and some cheese spreads but not the traditional cheddar and Cheshire cheeses. Have to watch the cholesterol and salt, that some cheeses have in abundance.
  3. I don't think it's wise to make this a party political issue. There are concerns that the Bill doesn't go far enough. For instance women's football hasn't been included, & it needs to be. I think the Bill is so important that it does need more scrutiny in the committee stage, before it goes to third reading. More info here. Over-regulation worries raised over Football Governance Bill INSIDERSPORT.COM The government's Football Governance Bill passed its second reading in the House...
  4. If any team from the PL want to participate just throw them out of the league never to return. Don't allow them to participate in any domestic cup competition either. It's time for the FA to get tough with any club that hints that they would be interested. Once they have gone, reconstruct the league system in England with five leagues consisting of 18 teams. 36 games in total for each league, with a four up four down promotion and relegation. FA Cup completion with PL teams joining from the first round with replays brought back in the case of a draw. This would generate cash for lower league clubs. There could also be a new competition. The British Cup, where the top four clubs of the English, Scottish, Welsh, & N Irish top leagues play each other in a knock out home & away to find a British Champion.
  5. Good advice but would pensioners, the vunerable and less well off know how to set up their central heating correctly? And if they don't, would they be able to afford an engineer to set up their system properly and show them what to do?
  6. I'd love to see Macca back even if it's just till the end of the season. He would totally transform our front line, & make space for Jodi and Dan to work their things.
  7. Eighteen goals in 52 appearances for two different clubs since he left Notts is a reasonable haul. Looks like Eli Sam is enjoying his football post Notts. Good for him.
  8. Quoted from AI Google with it's answer to the question. What is a fairweather football fan? "A fair weather football fan is someone who only supports a team when they are winning & loses interest when they are losing. The term "fair weather fan" comes from the analogy between good weather & trouble-free times. Fair weather fans are often the subject of study by scholars interested in the psychology of sports fandom. Some things that researchers have found about fair weather fans include: They tend to have a lower level of allegiance to the team than die-hard fans. They may distance themselves from the team when they perform poorly, describing the team as "them" instead of "us". Die-hard fans may view fair weather fans as traitors to the team. The term "bandwagon fan" is sometimes used interchangeably with "fair weather fan". However, a bandwagon fan may jump to support a different team that is successful or trendy, whereas a fair weather fan only engages when their current team is doing well". Is this a fair analogy of the fair weather football fan or is there more to it than this?
  9. Quote "The biggest victory in an international football match had a score of 31-0. The biggest victory in an international football match happened in 2001 when Australia defeated American Samoa 31-0 during a FIFA World Cup qualifier. Archie Thompson scored 13 goals in that match, setting a record for the most goals by a player in an international match". "Source Google"
  10. Just a polite reminder. Poll closes at 9 pm Tuesday guys.
  11. At least I'm safe from relegation. That's a positive.
  12. Just five hours left to choose your man of the match against Salford. Lets get those votes coming in. @Chris
  13. Whatever has happened to Man City? 1 win, 2 draws & 8 defeats in their last 11 games. This is an unprecedented situation for the owners of the club, that have only seen success after success over the last ten years or so. It looks like even a £1billion squad isn't enough to stop the slide. They have had injuries to key players such as Rodri, but such an expensive squad should have been enough for City to continue their PL dominance. It is not looking good for the Champions, & in particular, their Manager, Pep Guardiola, who is highly regarded across World Football. With the recent results any other manager would be under pressure, however Pep has recently signed a new two year contract with the Club. There has been talk in football circles that the Club are actually talking about a rebuild of the squad. Can a more expensive squad solve the Man City problem, or is it now evident that other Clubs have just found a way to play City?

  15. Their first goal was key to the final result. Salford executed their plan against Notts perfectly. Notts just couldn't counter act it on the day.
  16. Seen lots of negativity on social media especially the Facebook boards. I think it's totally uncalled for. Nothing will be achieved by being negative.
  17. Just 3 players not yet available for selection after injury. Robertson wasn't in the squad against Salford. No reason why. 1 Scott Robertson 2.Jodi Jones 3.Curtis Edwards 4.Conor Grant
  18. Dan Crowley played for around 65 minutes on Saturday against Salford before being substituted. To be honest I would have preferred that he would have been on the bench & come on for 30 minutes in the second half to manage his fitness.
