  1. Your Thursday Afternoon Weather
  2. As this game is now a part of Notts County history Id love to play it again.
  3. Another overcast and cold morning here. I don't watch a lot of live television now, but spent the even last night checking out all the Freeview channels after having our new Aerial put up. The guy did a very good job, & I'm getting more Freeview channels than I get on my Sky Satellite dish. The small Freeview box also includes on line content, & on demand TV, as well as pause live TV, so I'm impressed. A week without Notts & I'm looking forward to Saturday. A week of rest, recuperation & training should have helped the squad immensely. Hoping that the come out on all four cylinders & get the result the whole club & fans will be hoping for.
  4. As long as Saudi Arabia are willing to write the cheques, Football will be willing to give Saudi whatever they want. Money talks
  5. I think that this interview is one of the best I've seen involving Stuart Maynard. Very revealing and demonstrates why the Reedtz brothers value him so highly. He's totally different to what we saw with Luke Williams. Stuart has certainly made big tweaks in the Notts style since Williams left and it is certainly showing dividends defensively. If Notts hadn't had so many injuries who knows where Notts may have been in the league table after 18 games? I suspect that Notts would have easily have been in the top two. It is a credit to Stuart and his team that Notts have been able to remain competitive despite the injuries to his key players.
  6. I think the key to football success is simply finance. Just look at Wrexham. Languishing in the National League, then look what happens. They'll probably be in the Championship next season, & who would bet against them being a PL club a year after that.
  7. Jevani Brown joined on a season long loan, but I'm not sure that it is working out. Maybe it's best if he returns to Bristol in January, unless is form picks up very quickly. I also think that Martin will be released too in January. Cundy may go out in loan. That will allow three players to be recruited. I would like to see an attacking midfielder, a fast tricky wingback, and a fast & strong striker.
  8. Modern Football just follows the pot of gold wherever it rears it's ugly head.
  9. Weather for Thursday Morning
  10. Should be a good crowd for the fourth round tie.
  11. I agree that the new stadium is just a soul less shell. I wonder if they will be able to fill it?
  12. Interesting story but I switched off when I realised big investors came in. If a big investor came in and supported a team like say, Basford United, within 15 years they would most likely be playing in the PL
  13. How about in England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland? We already have the stadia in place, and each match would be sold out.
  14. @ChrisI like the new badges. Some members have been on PON a long time, so maybe something like a long service badge, or something like that, recognising those who have been active over a certain number of years.
  15. Players of old never seemed to get injured like they do today.
  16. I think that MK Dons got much more out of the transfer than Notts did. Grant wasn't the same type of player, & I think Notts would have been better served by getting a fast tricky wingback that was reasonable in defence too. Conor only played 11 games for MK Dons in the 23/24 season & got loaned out to Barnsley where he made 12 appearances so 23 in total that season. Conor does have an injury record He underwent surgery on his groin in summer 2022, returning to fitness in September. He played nine games before tearing a thigh muscle two months later, which required surgery and kept him out of action for five months; (Source Google) Notts do seem to take a chance on players with a past injury record.
  17. There again, the Millwall style and the players that have been signed don't go well with the Mark Robins style, except of course Macaulay Langstaff. This is the problem when managers change, they tend to want to change the style of the team too.
  18. I really don't want to have a loan player replacing Dan if he does go. We need to sign a good attacking Midfielder on a two ot three year contract.
  19. Good morning. Another overcast day and cold this morning too. Just waiting for the Aerial installer to come & install a new Aerial for us. Used to have Sky TV. I have the satellite Freeview now. Having the Aerial Freeview will be another option.
  20. Strange one this. Has he resigned or was he sacked? If he resigned he won't be entitled to severance pay, unless there was a private agreement that he went of his own accord & they still paid out his contract. Just checked out on Google & his contract was up June 2025, so both club & Neil could have agreed (mutual decision) he goes early & they pay up his contract. So both parties would be happy I suppose. So the replacement, could it be Mark Robins?
  21. Looks like Woking know where their bread is buttered.
