That first half was the worse from Notts this season. Plenty of work to do in the 2 nd half. Definitely missing Jones & Jatta. Notts need some pace so they can get behind the Morecambe lines. Changes needed by Stuart. I agree wholeheartedly.

The match begins. That aerial threat has been realised almost immediately. Goal to Morecambe from a corner.

My take on the side. Looks like Stuart has got half an eye on Tuesday night's trip to Carlisle. Gordon played well on Tuesday & I expected him in the side today. Thought McDonald would be on the bench too. Stuart is certainly making use of his squad & Martin gets a substitutes slot immediately. Does that also mean Austin at right wingback & Tsaroulla on the left? That's probably the plan. Cundy is probably there to help to combat the Morecambe long throws & aerial bombardment. Crowley needs to play further forward too, supporting Grant & McGoldrick. Stuart has pulled a few surprises but it's always good to keep the opposition guessing. I think this is a side that should have enough to get a positive result today.

Jacob Bedeau has been an excellent signing for Notts. Not only is he solid at the back he is also keen to make some forays into the opposition half. He has struck a great defensive partnership with Platt & Macari at the back too. I believe Jacob can only get better as the season goes on. He might even score some vital goals too.

In the time of Henry II of England, the king visited what is now known as Kings Mill, staying at the home of Sir John Cockle for a night having been hunting in Sherwood Forest. Sir John Cockle was later known as the Miller of Mansfield.

And haven't we seen this style employed all over the English game, even a Notts "Pochettino favours a very high-pressing, attacking style of football. Is this the style that is the be the all or end all from now on, or can the English style make a comeback in our game? I've noticed that BBC Sports had an article on him, so it looks like Kameron is getting some national attention already. I hope it's not the case, but we all know very well that PL clubs & their scouts will possibly show interest in him as the did Jermaine. I believe it would be better for Kameron to continue to develop at Notts, where he is settled & the club can help him much more, because they know him so we'll.

I just wonder if it not just about talent & how good a player is or is not. Could it be that the player doesn't hit it off with the coaches, his fellow players or simply doesn't show enough on the training ground? I'm not saying that is the case here. It just may be a factor generally within football.

Morecambe are going to probably sit back, let Notts have the ball, they will employ a high press & try to wait for mistakes at the back by Notts. Every team tries the same tactics against Notts every week, Gillingham last Saturday was no exception. But Notts are much more secure at the back nowadays & Notts have reduced the effectiveness of this tactic by opponents considerably this season. Notts will treat Morecambe with respect & will guard against their aerial threat, which I'm sure will be relentless. It will be a day where Dan & Jacob will want to play well against their former club & Alassana & Jodi missing will be a blow too. However, if Notts play to the level that they have shown this season, I just believe Notts will be too strong all over the pitch. I'm expecting a close game with Notts winning by the odd goal.
