Stuart Maynard Optimistic About Notts County’s Strength Ahead of Accrington Stanley Clash
Stuart has the type of players now in place that he wanted. He, his coaching team & the recruiters have worked together well to build virtually a new team to challenge this season. But it wasn't just the better calibre of player Stuart wanted, he wanted a much stronger squad too. It's good that Stuart has a selection headache when choosing his starting 11. Healthy competition for places is a good thing Accrington will be another stern test for Notts this afternoon, & like every side in this division, will pose a threat. Notts have shown that they have the flair to open defences, but at the same time have grit, character & determination to defend when they need to. If Notts show those traits today, they should be too strong for Accrington. I'm hoping for a clean sheet & a 2:0 win.

Alex Bass Prepares for the Challenge Ahead: Notts County Keeper Focused on Maintaining Form
Bass has settled well into the side since coming to Notts He appears to be the man between the sticks that Notts have needed for a while. He is a calm and commanding figure, he's good at gathering crosses, & a good shot stopper too. Alex is a big reason why Notts have tightened up in defence. A good goalkeeper can give defenders lots of confidence too. We have seen it all before at Notts & other clubs looking for success. A good dependable goalkeeper does make a big difference. I think Notts may have found that very goalkeeper in Alex Bass, who can help Notts get to the next level.

Weekly Chat 2nd - 8th September
The cloud broke up a little this afternoon and we've had some sun, Wife took a chance & did some washing, which dried this afternoon. Got some paper shredding done. I took some advice via Google & put a sprinkle of cooking oil on the metal shredders & it did help. We have three big spiders in the garden which insist on building their webs across my garden path, so I have to make a small detour so that I don't spoil their hard work. The other day, we both sat in the garden & couldn't help but notice one building his web over a few hours. It's wonderful how they construct their web. It was a little windy that day & the web was moving about in the wind, so the spider strengthened the anchoring to prevent it moving so much. Fascinating stuff.

McGoldrick on Notts TV
David in a punditry role. I think he could easily have a career as a football pundit when his footballing career ends. He is a very knowledgeable footballer who has played with lots of players & different clubs On the subject of Forests start to the season & their players he had some good points to make. As far as Notts is concerned David confirmed that there is a great atmosphere around the club at the moment, & with Notts much more secure at the back, confidence is high. Charlie thinks David should be starting every game for Notts. One thing's for sure, Stuart is going to have headaches when choosing the starting 11. Stuart won't mind that if course. David is a level headed guy and can be a calming influence within the squad. His experience will be vital for Notts this season as well as his advice as a senior member of the squad to his teammates.
