  1. Update. Kent have been bowled out for 230. Notts require 23 to win.
  2. As a boy I loved a Caramac bar. a caramel-flavoured chocolate bar with an red and yellow wrapper. It was delicious. It was axed by Nestlé after 60 years due to declining sales.
  3. Good win for Emma Raducanu in Seoul. She storms into the quarter finals.
  4. It was a misty morning here, dead calm and a little chilly. Now we've moved into the afternoon there is still thick cloud cover, but it looks like the sun may be peeking through very soon. This weekend see's the arrival of the Autumn equinox, (12 hours of day, & 12 hours of night) in the Northern hemisphere, when the Sun crosses the celestial equator going south Info about the celestial equator. 5. It's been a very good morning for the Notts bowlers in the opening session of the day. At Lunch Kent are 196/7 still 12 runs needed to make Notts bat again.
  6. Like @Chris reported this injury was sustained after a collision with the Accrington goalkeeper, but it's concerning that our players are getting knocks then suffering a niggle. Stuart has been concerned about the rough treatment his players have been getting, & wanting more protection for them. Not sure that his words will be heeded by officials though, because the rough treatment keeps happening.
  7. Update. Kent 156/7 still 52 runs behind Notts.
  8. This is hard luck for Curtis. He had been playing so well in midfield either in a defensive or attacking midfield role. His work rate has been phenomenal & he will be missed. Notts do have plenty of cover to fill his shoes, which is a big positive. I wish Curtis well & that he has a speedy recovery.
  9. Bad news for Notts. Curtis Edwards likely to be out until Xmas.
  10. It's the third day of the match between Kent & Nottinghamshire from Canterbury. Kent will resume their second innings on 85/0 trailing Notts by 123 runs.
  11. Weather for Thursday Morning
  12. @liampie The Australian Magpies look bigger and their markings are different. Whether it's a friend or not, I wouldn't put my face close to that big beak of his.
  13. Good luck with your new job & place at Nottingham University @Joshua
  14. I've heard that Magpies remember a human face, so it is a good idea to get eye contact with a magpie and they will remember you. They are very intelligent birds but can get aggressive if they are nesting, & they will kill other birds & even their chicks. But they are very beautiful birds and it's a shame that they have a bad reputation. Magpies in Australia are even more aggressive than they are here. They are a different species of bird though. I found this cute story about a magpie befriending a girl.
  15. I would love to see a decent cup run. I think we are about due one. The squad is strong and Notts can field an alternative strong first 11 if necessary, with a mixture of first teamers, plus Reynolds, Cisse & Sanderson on the bench in the first two rounds I cannot see that a long cup run would be detrimental to success in League 2. For all said and done, Wrexham did it & it didn't stop them getting promoted. I agree @Wheelbarrow repair man that League 2 takes priority, but it would be nice to draw a big club either home or away. More money in the coffers is always welcome. And it's a chance for the rest of the squad & the young ones, to make a name for themselves.
  16. With a much stronger Notts County Squad this season, would you like to see a long FA Cup run? Man City or Man U & Co at Meadow Lane in the 3rd Round would be mouthwatering & a money spinner with the large crowd & TV revenue.
  17. Just looked at the latest forecast & they are now saying rain is moving in from the south on Friday. Where did that come from? The seven day forecast on Monday said it would be fine for the weekend. Ah well
  18. I wonder if Notts do the same rigourous checks with trialists that they do with players they want to sign. I always thought the player asked for a trial at his own expense. If this is true then it's a no loss situation for Notts. Better to reject a trialist than get landed with a player they've signed but it doesn't work out. But they are stuck with that player or have to send him out on loan.
  19. Sorry to read you are feeling unwell Get well soon @TheSkipper
  20. @liampie Dixie only played 9 times for us that season. According to Wiki he was out with injuries. If he had been fully fit I'm sure he would have played a lot more times & scored many goals for us in the Third Division South. Dean scored 3 goals in Notts's first six matches.
  21. End of the days play and Kent are 85/0 in the 2nd innings following on still 123 runs behind Notts . Notts probably should have batted and extended the lead.
