Transfer Deadline Day
What never seems to get discussed nowadays is the fact that defenders can be turned into attackers and vice versa. A strong tall, physical defender can fill in for a target man upfront if necessary. Of course we'd prefer to have a quick mobile attacker, but if it's not possible, there are always other options. Only hours to go before the window closes. Let's hope we see some movement in as far as Notts is concerned.

Lewis Macari 'I'm Loving It Here at Notts County'
Macari was one of the very few success stories in defence last season. Now he is one of the first names written on the starting team sheet every game. The new season has brought new defensive colleagues for Macari, and he can only benefit from the better class of defenders around him. Lewis will be an important player for Notts this season and I believe he will improve as a player as the season progresses. The fact that he can play in a few positions in defence will give Stuart plenty of options too. Hopefully Lewis can forge a great defensive partnership with his defensive colleagues and produce many more clean sheets this season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s U21 Captain George Abbott Joins Notts County on Loan
George Abbott is a really good signing for Notts. He is extensively a defensive midfield player but can play in other various positions on the pitch, centre back & right back. On social media the Spurs fans think he a great prospect and coming from a PL Club where George has figured in the Spurs first team on occasions bodes well for his stay at Notts. I think Stuart may use him in the right back/ wing back position, so his signing will strengthen the squad in that area in my opinion. I don't think George has come here to sit on the bench & I'm sure he will be pushing hard for a place in the starting 1. The Notts style of play will suit him so I hoping that he will add something to the squad in the defensive areas.

Where are they now : Paul Hart
Footballers finish their careers so early in life that some never want to retire when it comes to coaching and Management. Paul has been a good servant to all the Clubs he's been associated with especially Notts. If he does decide to retire now I hope he has a great retirement.

George Abbott Excited for New Chapter at Notts County: "It's a Good Opportunity" Says Tottenham Hotspur's Young Midfielder
The young man seems to have a very positive attitude and I believe he will fit into Notts County's style of play well. He also appears to be able to play in various positions, so my guess is that Stuart may use him at right wing back or defensive midfield area. Abbott hasn't come to Notts to sit on the bench & I'm sure he's ready and willing to play in the first team immediately if required. Stuart has a good strong squad to work with. If Notts can get another striker in that would complete the rebuild quite nicely. Exciting times ahead for this season is a distinct possibility now.

Transfer Deadline Day
I agree with others that we must keep Jodi & Dan. They are both an integral part of the team. Every player has his price, but I would be disappointed if either of them were sold. Priority is to sign a striker, either by loan, free transfer, or transfer fee. The situation regarding Stone is unclear. If Notts intend to offload him they will need goalkeeping cover. In any case, three strikers & three goalkeepers in the squad is required.

Weekly Chat 26th August- 1st September
A lovely Friday morning, plenty of sunshine, no wind, a little chilly but it should warm up later. Time for Garden work while it's cool, clearing the dead flowers & cleaning out the pots to storage for next spring. Although we haven't had much rain here for several weeks, the garden looks green and lush. The watering can can be a godsend. Plenty of spiders out there spinning their webs, no doubt soon they will be trying to get into the house where it's warm as it gets colder.

@liampie the new fella will possibly be on the bench. He's very versatile and could fit into several different positions, so he'll be very useful.T The only concern would be, can he cope with the physicality of league 2? - Cartoon Corner.
