  1. Devastating news for the fans of Nuneaton Borough FC withdrawing from their league and facing liquidation. The big six in the Premier League get richer by the day, yet football is in crisis with lower tier clubs struggling with their finances. There has to be changed because there's no such thing as fairness in the footy pyramid.
  2. Meet the Players. Shoniqua Barnes: Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661910
  3. The weather is on the change for the UK leading up to the weekend with milder air from the west. Good news for sport Batten down the hatches, strong winds forecast and possibly stormy conditions for Sunday & Monday.
  4. It's a winning start for Joe Salisbury and Heather Watson in the mixed doubles. Neil Skupski and his partner Santiago Gonzalez win to reach the third round of the Men's doubles.
  5. Lloyd Glasspool and his partner have a great win in the mixed doubles Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram win to force their way through to the third round of the men's doubles.
  6. Meet the Players Nya Chambers: Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/267915
  7. Now that Stuart Maynard has been named as Head Coach, I think that the game on Saturday against Stockport will be a whole new ball game. We all talk about the new Gaffer bounce and it will be as true as ever on Saturday. We played one of our best games of the season at Stockport a few weeks ago and Notts were unlucky not to come away with a draw being the best side on the day. If we play on Saturday like we did in that game, for our new Gaffer, & with a big crowd behind them, I think we can pull off a win.
  8. So Cam Norrie is the last Brit in the Singles draw. He plays 12th seed Ruud in the 3rd round. It will be a tough match for Cam as his recent form hasn't been good and he's already had two tough matches to contend with to get this far I believe the best chance for Brit success will come in the men's Doubles with Salisbury and Ram who won the title in 2020. Will continue to keep you up to date with Brit results.
  9. I'm really heartened by this appointment. Stuart is one of those Head Coaches that I believe is destined for big things in the game. He comes with an excellent CV with his success at Wealdstone. Notts have a head Coach that will continue with the footballing phylosophy that has served Notts so well and attracted plenty of plaudits from the Football community. I listened to his first interview as Notts Head Coach and he came across as a determined, confident & articulate young man. I believe Notts will be in good hands with Stuart & his Coaching team.
  10. I'd just like to say that I've listened to Stuart's first interview for Notts, he sounded a very confident, determined & articulate young man. I'm very impressed.
  11. I'm so pleased that Stuart has been appointed, so the vibes online turned out to be true. I believe the brothers have made an excellent appointment here. The players will be in great hands with Stuart, along with his team, Matt Saunders, Craig Saunders, and our own, João Alves. I'm very confident about our chances of making the playoffs now that our new Head Coach & his Team have been appointed. Onwards and upwards.
  12. Good move for him. The main thing here he's going to get game time which is essential for a player to develop and improve. I do like the loan system. It has proved useful to many players who are not getting game time with their clubs. I wish him good luck at Rochdale
  13. Meet the Players. Summer Gayle. Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661977
  14. I agree @Chris Jodi is great going forward and I would want that to change, but as good as he is going forward he has not been good defensively, I think that's been the case with most of the team. I knew Head Coach will probably want to change that.
  15. 'Alan Turing invented a number of short cuts that made breaking it and re-breaking it when the settings changed every day possible. The Poles, who had the original Enigma machine, worked out how to break it. But as they left it, breaking one day’s code took weeks, by which time the information was too old to be worth much. What Turing and others did at Bletchley Park was work out how to speed up and automate that process so that more days than not they could break the code on the same day, allowing decrypts to be less than 24 hours old when sent to the relevant military handlers. Sometimes they didn’t manage it, and a whole day’s worth would not be decrypted'. (Source Google)
  16. The Brits always have a fascination for the Weather, we talk about it, we discuss it or we laugh and cry about it. Here's a thread which will keep members and visitors to our community up to date about our ever changing weather. Get the latest forecast here & simply discuss it if you feel the need to. So here's the latest on the UK Weather front.
  17. Keir Starmer accused of huge U-turn as 'CPS staff blamed for Post Office scandal errors' https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1857022/Keir-Starmer-CPS-mistakes
  18. Jodi Jones has become a vital part of our attacking threat. How can we forget his assist and winning goal against Boreham Wood in the play off Semi-final. This season he has 21 goal contributions in 24 appearances. He's become a very valuable player for Notts. Enjoy them all.
  19. Alfie Hewett into the Wheelchair Australian Open Final.
  20. Meet the Players. Katie Platts: Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/664274
  21. An introduction to the players. Philipa Davies. Goal Keeper. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661907
  22. Due to the way the FFP rules are structured there are three leagues in one in the Premier League. There are also two leagues in one in the Championship. At this time League 1 and League 2 are still relatively fair to all clubs in those two leagues, but if what we have seen in the top two leagues is allowed to continue, the same thing will happen with the richer clubs always at the top and the others just making up the numbers in league 1 and 2. We have seen how Wrexham are benefitting from having rich owners. Some say that it would be impossible to introduce a turnover Cap, but I don't agree. A Sensible Cap for each league would benefit all the teams, not just a few with the present system. I also believe the Premier League should filter a lot more money down the Football pyramid than they currently do. We also need to make sure home grown players are developed to the full, and our national teams remain competitive and this means more home players in the Premier League. Clubs should be encouraged to play more home grown players.
  23. Latest Weather forecast. Stay safe.
  24. Who's talking about airline travel to Europe @Piethagoram? I'm talking about Sea Ferries being the cornerstone of travel across the Channel and North Sea decades before the Channel Tunnel was built, and in my opinion there is still an important role to play for the Sea Ferries.
  25. The only thing I would say about this Wrexham story is that again, it is symptomatic about the current problem in our domestic football, the haves' and the have nots' That's why there should be a Cap on turnover for each of the four top tier Leagues.
