  1. Strange for him to retire so early in the season, but I wish him luck in his retirement.
  2. Nice blog @Joshua Well put together. Wow, we do have talented writers on PON. I'm just pleased for Stuart. It was rough for him taking over from a legend like Williams. However Stuart has come through all that, and the signs are very good with the team he's building. There will always be people who will be negative, but I believe there are big positive things going to happen in the next few months with Stuart's team.
  3. Agree with many on here that he wasn't up to it. He just didn't click at Notts & unfortunately, that often happens with players.
  4. At Stumps, Notts are 212/6 still 90 runs behind Durham with 4 wickets left. Haynes is still there 59 n/o. Slater made 53. At least Notts have taken the game to the final day, but the stats say Notts have been thoroughly outplayed by Durham up till now.
  5. Stuart was appointed head coach and had to deal with a team that was leaking goals and having problems in defence. But to his credit, he has stuck with it and in the close season worked with the recruiters to bring in players that could compete at this level. The signs that all his work is paying off, was clear to see on Thursday night. We witnessed the best performance of the Notts team under Maynard and the football that was played was a joy to see. I'm so pleased for Stuart that this team looks like they may be going places. Time will tell, but there is certainly a buzz around the club at the moment.
  6. As you may be aware, OFGEM are going to raise the Energy Cap by 10% on first of October. Some good info on this video by Martin Lewis.
  7. Notts are 125/4 at Tea. Can they prolong the match into a fourth day?
  8. Macaulay comes on as substitute for the LAST 2 MINUTES of the Millwall game against Hull City. Still waiting for his first goal for the club. What a waste.
  9. Eight goals from his last eleven appearances for Notts. The early signs are good.
  10. Lunch. Notts are 56/1 in their 2nd innings still 246 runs behind Durham.
  11. Day 3 of the County Championship Division 1 match between Durham & Notts. Notts have quickly lost their last two wickets this morning and will follow on. Notts 229 all out trail Durham by 302 runs.
  12. Welcome to our PON community @Andystarscream
  13. Notts Women travel to Loughborough to play Loughborough Lightning on Sunday 25th August for their second National League Division 1 Midlands, game of the season. This will be a tough match for Notts because Loughborough were one of the top teams in the Division last season. Notts had a good win in their first game of the season against Lincoln United when they won 2:1 at Eastwood.
  14. So it's Saturday Morning. It's a grey Sky and it is a chilly morning but it's no longer windy. It's a cold house this morning, so have had to put the gas fire on to warm things up. No Notts match, but weather permitting it's England v Sri Lanka at Cricket and Durham v Notts, plus plenty of Football to chew over.
  15. Your Weather for Saturday. It will be breezy and cool for August.
  16. It's like a lot of things that have developed in football is the yearly change of football shirts x 3 Then you now have up to three football shirts, now Cup shirts? It's all about making money, but you can't blame clubs, especially the lower league clubs for trying to make money primarily on the shirts. But Cup shirts? I think that's a step to far. Will Bochum have 4000 cancelled orders now?
  17. Curtis Edwards played very well against Grimsby. He was one of the three stand outs for Notts. I think the recruiters have done very well bringing him to Notts where our style of play looks like it suits him. He was calm on the ball, all over the pitch and never stopped running, He's going to be excellent in midfield for Notts & a perfect foil for Crowley. It's alright having good players but a good team needs good players to click together & I think we saw it in abundance against Grimsby. I believe our midfield is beginning to look very strong together. When Matty Palmer becomes fully fit it will get even stronger and well oiled too
  18. Stumps Notts close on 220/8 still 311 runs behind Durham. James is 50 n/o & Hutton 6 n/o
  19. Football fans are the beating heart of every football club and the Notts fans are no different. Fan can & do influence football matches with their fervent support. When Meadow lane is rocking there is nothing in the Country to compare with it. Last night was one of those nights where the atmosphere was truely electric and second to none. I wasn't even there but I could feel it as I listened on the Radio.
  20. Good luck to him. Hope he can make a difference in his new position.
  21. Sad news for Geraldo Bajrami and Burton Albion. Hope he makes a full recovery as soon as possible.
