  1. @TheSkipper Bolton were playing 5 first team members for half the match. This is the Central League that Notts B team are playing in. Some strong teams in there.
  2. Just to put the result into perspective, five senior players were playing for Bolton in this match, so the final result is a bit skewed to say the least.
  3. David has been training hard to get as fit as he possibly can for the start of the season and he does look much sharper than how he ended last season. Stuart believes that he has a role to play in the squad. David may not be a regular in the Notts side this season , but as Stuart iterated, he wants a strong squad where players can come on and make a difference. David certainly made a big difference when he came on on Sunday, and he did help to change the game in Notts favour. Stuart will wanting to see more of that as the season progresses. A strong squad is essential in League two for a side to be successful.
  4. Fun fact. Notts & Grimsby share some interesting stats.
  5. Weather warnings for strong winds on Thursday.
  6. At the end of the day the offending player didn't have to challenge for the ball. He could have left the player to another one of his teammates, but he chose to run in & put in a rash tackle that resulted in what could be, a career changing injury. The offending player should be punished severely in my opinion.
  7. @liampie The extortionate admission price at Forest will push the casual fan to us. That's a good thing. The Notts owners should take all the credit for doing all the things they are currently doing to increase revenue. I am right behind them on that because in the short and long term the club will benefit, and that's all that matters.
  8. After just two games of their season, Neil Critchley has been dismissed as Blackpool Head Coach.
  9. Nice article & a good read why the team across the road being in the Premier League is good for Notts. The Notts owners should take lots of credit for taking advantage of it.
  10. Your Wednesday Morning Weather
  11. I think Jodi is worth as much as Macca, £700K, & could easily ply his trade in the Championship. Dan is worth at least £500K. But I'd rather keep them, they are worth twice as much as those prices for Notts if they help to get us promoted.
  12. Jodi is going to need a large display cabinet.
  13. @Pies79 Gordon will be out injured for another couple of weeks, according to Stuart, so I suspect Macari may still play on the right on Thursday evening.
  14. Congratulations Jodi. Macca, Dan & Jodi in the League 2 team of the year chosen by the players.
  15. Your Tuesday Evening Weather
  16. I've just listened to the pre Grimsby interview by Stuart. The take aways I have from it are? Notts need to try to eliminate the defensive mistakes that they made during the Fleetwood game. The players will be working towards that end Stuart was concerned about the rough treatment that Jodi Jones received in both league games & Matt Palmer in the Fleetwood game. Stuart wanted to see more protection for his players. Stuart was happy to see the substitutions make a difference to the Fleetwood game and it was becoming clear that the Notts squad is strong with players that can come on who are at the same level as the players going off. It is clear that Stuart wants to keep Dan Crowley, but every player has his price. We heard that with Macca too, and we all know how that ended. Fingers crossed he isn't sold. It is clear that former players like Macca might leave, but it is a testament to the club that players like Macca, still want to come visit and cheer their former teammates on.
  17. A loss to an experienced Bolton B side today.
  18. Fantastic for the lad. Good luck to him.
  19. 2:0 to Bolton at half time.
  20. Good interview @Chris I do like these views from the opposition. I think that the style of play that Grimsby use will suit Notts on Thursday evening. All games in league 2 are tough, & the game against Grimsby will be no different. They will most likely let Notts have all the possession and try to hit us on the break like most teams in this division do. I think Notts will have more space to exploit against Grimsby & hopefully with Palmer & Tsaroulla starting the match, Notts will prove to be too strong for them. Notts just need to tighten up in defence & Tsaroulla will help with that on the left hand side. 3:1 Notts for me.
  21. Listening to his interview, David has been working hard on his fitness to give himself the best possible chance to get a regular place in the first team. When he came on against Fleetwood, his skill on the ball changed the game by helping to get Tsaroulla in the penalty area to win a penalty for Notts. Didzy still has a big part to play for Notts this season, whether from the start of a match or from the bench.
  22. Congratulations to David for achieving a noteworthy landmark.
  23. We have an Asda within walking distance, but they've built a McDonald's in the car park, so there's a lot more traffic now and sometimes there's queuing to get out of the car park. It's easier to get in the Car & drive a couple of miles to the Tesco extra now.
