  1. DIDZY!!! David gets his second of the match "Patient stuff from the lads in the visitors' penalty area - and it results in McGoldrick's deflected effort finding the net from 20 yards. Notts 2 Accrington 0
  2. We are creating chances, need to put one of them away. Notts 1 Accrington 0
  3. Need to stay focussed at the start of the second half Notts. Notts 1 Accrington 0
  4. Back to it. Notts 1 Accrington 0
  5. It has certainly been the Didzy show in this first half Didzy goes close again. Notts 1 Accrington 0 Notts lead at half time. Notts 1 Accrington 0
  6. DIDZY!!! "18 - GOAL! Bedeau supplies McGoldrick in space 20 yards out & you know the rest" Notts 1 Accrington 0
  7. After a minutes long applause for Sven, we are underway Notts 0 Accrington 0
  8. Today, this is going to be a big test on how strong our squad really is. Crowley, Jones & Jatta being out is a big deal, & Palmer still not ready to be in the starting 11 is another concern. Just wondering where the creativity is going to come from today. Lots of what we do will have to come through Grant, Edwards & Didzy today.
  9. Stuart has the type of players now in place that he wanted. He, his coaching team & the recruiters have worked together well to build virtually a new team to challenge this season. But it wasn't just the better calibre of player Stuart wanted, he wanted a much stronger squad too. It's good that Stuart has a selection headache when choosing his starting 11. Healthy competition for places is a good thing Accrington will be another stern test for Notts this afternoon, & like every side in this division, will pose a threat. Notts have shown that they have the flair to open defences, but at the same time have grit, character & determination to defend when they need to. If Notts show those traits today, they should be too strong for Accrington. I'm hoping for a clean sheet & a 2:0 win.

  11. Bass has settled well into the side since coming to Notts He appears to be the man between the sticks that Notts have needed for a while. He is a calm and commanding figure, he's good at gathering crosses, & a good shot stopper too. Alex is a big reason why Notts have tightened up in defence. A good goalkeeper can give defenders lots of confidence too. We have seen it all before at Notts & other clubs looking for success. A good dependable goalkeeper does make a big difference. I think Notts may have found that very goalkeeper in Alex Bass, who can help Notts get to the next level.

  16. Nice article & a very good read. I was privileged to see Tony play too. I've never seen a better header of the ball play for Notts & there have been lots of great strikers play for Notts since that time.
  17. I agree that he never looked to be managerial material, & he didn't really stand out when working under Shaun Derry at Notts, however good luck to him in his chosen career in Recruitment.
