Three Leopards
Nice to see a thread about English history @Wheelbarrow repair man good one. I must admit that I love history myself, but I never knew the lions were actually leopards in the middle ages. I just researched this on Google, and I understand in the middle ages they called lions, leopards when they were lying down, and leopards, lions when they were rearing or rampant. As you said, it wouldn't sound right as leopard heart would it?

Matt Palmer Opens Up: Injury Struggles and Triumphs at Notts County
The news that Matt is working hard to be fit for the start of the season is absolutely huge for Notts County. His determination and dedication to come back from such a serious injury is commendable. This is why Matt is such a special player for Notts, he gives leadership on the pitch and his fellow players look up to him. Matt could easily have been made club Captain and no one at the Club or in our fan base would have rejected to it. For me, Matt is as good as a new signing for Notts. It will be fascinating to see what role Matt will be given in midfield, seeing how well Robertson has played in Matt's absence. But as far as I'm concerned, Matt should be the first name on the team sheet, because his presence makes all the difference to Notts. And much congratulations to Matt on his recent engagement, and good luck for the future to Matt & his fiancé.

Match 8: Nottinghamshire v Somerset
Tea Notts are 396/2 Slater is 159 n/o Young is 49 n/o Stone the only man out today, was out for 63. Looks like the game is going to end in a draw. It's a very benign pitch, a batsmen's paradise.

Phil Foden
So sorry to hear that he is leaving the team to go home for family reasons. He is a very talented footballer & he's going to be missed. Family has to come first. I wish him well.

Hayley Turner : Notts supporting jockey
I see what you mean Chris. I can remember those iconic thoroughbred horses, from the 70s like Mill Reef, Brigadier Gerrard, and Nijinsky, I still remember that the Brigadier won 17 out of 18 major races and his only defeat came from another great, Roberto. I can't name a modern horse at all now.

Notts betting odds outside automatic promotion
Out of the six signings so far Matty Platt Jacob Bedeau Alex Bass Nick Tsaroulla Rod McDonald Curtis Edwards I see 4 going straight into the side to play the pre season friendlies Matty Platt Jacob Bedeau Alex Bass Nick Tsaroulla and the others on the bench for now Rod McDonald Curtis Edwards Those signings are the making of a very good side on paper. It just depends on if they can gel as a team quickly.

Notts County Bolsters Midfield with Curtis Edwards on Two-Year Deal
These quality signings keep coming thick and fast for Notts. What a few weeks we have had on the transfer front, & the players that Notts are recruiting are exactly the type of players Notts needed. Curtis Edwards is a midfielder that can play in a variety of positions & will strengthen Notts's midfield options. Curtis has experience of playing in the Europa League, & has been involved in Championship winning sides abroad. Notts have clearly been able to sign a quality player in Curtis. I am sure he will also become one of the leaders on the pitch too. Notts have played very smart with these signings and we are going to witness a lot of competition for places, because the players we have brought in will not want to be making up the numbers on the substitute bench for long. All the types of players I have been asking for, Notts have duly obliged. If we can bring in a right wing back that would complete the team jigsaw for me.

Notts betting odds outside automatic promotion
If I remember Wrexham and Notts were two of the favourites with the bookies to go up last season so it's not a surprise to see Chesterfield & those who narrowly missed out last season as favourites too I prefer Notts to be further down the list, it takes the pressure off the players and also may reduce expectations by the press, so I'm happy to see Notts out of the limelight for once. Let Notts do their stuff out of the glare of the mainstream for once.

Curtis Edwards joins Notts
Welcome to Notts Curtis Edwards. "He can play in various midfield roles, which gives us more flexibility and depth, and is a fantastic technician who’s also very hard-working and mobile between both boxes"
