It's Matchday. Nottingham Rugby v Cornish Pirates.- Too big to fail? Everton appear to be in some real financial trouble
The Premier League is an absolute mess, Football in this Country is in a mess for a variety of reasons, the power of the top six, out of control finance in the Premier League, Clubs going out of business down the Football pyramid. Things are only going to get worse as clubs outside the top six try to compete and go into further and further debt. Something drastic needs to be done, such as a whole new restructuring of the game. There needs to be financial caps put on all clubs to limit the spending in the Premier League and EFL. The recent proposals that look like being adopted by the PL don't go far enough and will not address the massive disparity between the top six PL Clubs and the bottom six. There has to be a financial cap that is the same for all Clubs in the PL and each league in the EFL. All 20 Clubs in the PL should have the same cap, not based on total revenue, but based on the limit a club can spend on transfer fees and wages. The transfer/wages cap could be for example, be based on the average turnover of the bottom 10 clubs of the PL. That would equal things up somewhat by cutting transfer fees & wages, of the top 10, making the PL more interesting for the fan. There could be a levy put on the profits of the top clubs that could be used to help clubs all the way down the football pyramid.- Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.

- FA Cup Replays to be Scrapped.
@KB1862 And to think we would never have had the famous win when Hereford played Newcastle in a FA Cup 3rd round replay in 1972, Hereford winning 2:1, if there were no replays then. Small clubs are going to miss out financially big time, & the fans of those clubs are going to miss out too.- Is VAR Ruining Football?
@KB1862 You make an important point that since VAR referees have just switched offand wait for the call, but the VAR officials don't seem to want to embarrass the match referee so we are getting plenty of questionable decisions being made- Season tickets
Over 1200 season tickets sold now.- Bury FC
This isn't good news for Bury fans. Bury thought they would get an allocation of 700 but have been informed they can only have 200 tickets. Their League should intervene.- Jokers Wild: Joke Of The Day.

- Transfer Rumours : Farrend Rawson to Notts?
@Ohh Tommy Johnson I looked on transfer markt.com and he wasn't in the Morecambe squad for 6 of the last 11 matches of the season. When he returned he was in a side that lost 4 & drew one of their last 5 matches. He was substituted in 3 of those 5 matches too. As far as JOB is concerned he was a Notts player, and the club knew him, how he played, his personality, commitment and his playing style, so no, I would have kept JOB on after we were relegated. If Notts decided to sign him, and they have gone through his profile, match stats & personality checks and decide to take him on then I would support that decision. But personally, I think they should pass on him.- Transfer Rumours : Farrend Rawson to Notts?
Personally I wouldn't touch a player from a relegated side and I would question his mentality. Noticed Mansfield let him go when they failed to gain promotion. My verdict. Notts should pass on this one.- Season tickets
We heard from Montague at the Fans forum last night that over 1000 season tickets have already been sold in two days with 175 plus of those new sales.- UK Weather Watch.

- FA Cup Replays to be Scrapped.
We want to save the FA Cup' - clubs urge replays rethink "The FA announced last month that replays in the world's oldest cup competition would be scrapped from the first round proper from next season to ease a calendar which has been made more congested by the expansion of European club competitions". "That led to an outcry from EFL and non-league clubs who said the decision had been made without consulting them". "27 clubs have backed a move by football reform body Fair Game to request an amendment to the Football Governance Bill, that would need a majority of clubs to vote for such changes". In a letter to culture secretary Lucy Frazer, the clubs said they "want to save the FA Cup".- Is VAR Ruining Football?
"VAR has changed the game" Words from the Spurs boss. Good listen.- Bury FC
Would love to see this famous old club, start to climb the football pyramid and get to where it belongs again.- Cartoon Corner.
