Heartbreak for Bury. In the play off final they lose 3:2 on penalties after drawing 1:1 at full time. They stay in the North West Counties League for another season.
  4. @DangerousSausage It all comes down to a matter of preference really If sides such as Wrexham, Mansfield & Stockport decide to release some players, (Wrexham have already released a retained list), of course Notts have to look at them and decide if any of them can do a job for us. I'd rather Notts look at those 3 clubs players than say, Forest Green or Sutton at the moment.
  5. @Sophie d Looking at his stats, his positives Riley comes from one of the top academies, he does have experience in League 2 with Mansfield and Colchester, he's 6ft,2 inches tall.his stats say he wins 95% of his aerial duels. He may be a good fit Looking at his defensive stats he looks to be better with the physicality, stamina and heading ability compared to Cameron and Brindley. Everything else looks similar. https://www.fifacm.com/24/compare/241699/212833/232114 Notts need to recruit a player who can improve on what we have, not sure Riley is much better than what we have. I think we need to recruit some experienced League 1 or League 2 defenders who understand and can cope with the physicality of league 2. Something we were lacking this season.

  7. I agree with @DangerousSausage that we need an experienced goalkeeper preferably in his early 30s but would consider late 20s. He needs to be able to command his area, good at dealing with crosses and good at distribution. He has to be tall and strong with a strong personality. I want a goalkeeper who can also lead and organise his defence at free kicks and corners, and can shout encouragement & orders to his defenders. I wouldn't mind taking a goalie on a one year contract with a view for Brooks to take over the following season. Bartosz could fit the bill if he is fit, willing and prepared to play 40 odd games. Just depends if he wants to come back with a step down to league 2. I would prefer an older experienced goalie in preference to someone in their early 20s

  9. It may be a bit over the top @Wheelbarrow repair man but just look at the new proposal which will go to a full meeting of PL clubs later in the year. It just doesn't go far enough. The FA would take the budget for the club that is seen to be the smallest, so for this season it would be Burnley or Bournemouth, so the amount of money that could be spent by the richest club would be linked to Burnley’s budget by a multiple. “So far, what has been discussed is a multiple of 4.5, so if Burnley spent £100m on player costs, (that's transfers and wages), the richest club would then get a budget of £450m.” That is still grossly unfair for a smaller PL club or a club getting promoted to the PL in my book. Many of the owners lend money to the clubs they own, rather than give the money. Lending the money instead of just giving it could possibly be a way of offsetting tax. Everton was lent money, but what happens when the loan is called back and the club cannot pay, Insolvency?
