  1. @Chris I agree. Sometimes when a side is conceding goals and losing big, changes have to be made. As an example, the club across the river last season tried to play like they did in the championship. Attempting to play open football. It didn't work, they were conceding goals like nobody's business and they had to change their style, graft, pack their midfield and work hard to get a result which was largely successful. It wasn't pretty but it was effective. We've been found out by the other clubs in this league. We have to try something different, otherwise we will continue to keep on leaking goals
  2. Another great read. We need to keep these Notts County Allumini articles coming.
  3. Very good and informative read
  4. Monday's Weather Forecast. Dry with sunny spells for most - Odd shower in Midlands and E Eng clearing. - Wintry showers continue in NI and W Scot.
  5. Monday Morning Weather. Bright spells and showers on Monday morning. A chilly start, with some icy patches possible in the north
  6. It was an absolutely brilliant day for every Notts County fan who attended., It was a pity that there weren't more people there, but we won an International competition. Notts's name will forever be associated with the Anglo Italian Cup as a winner and the only English winner after the tournament had been reinstated for four seasons. It was a trophy to be proud of. And don't forget we were runners up the previous year when we lost in the final to Brescia. Two finals in successive seasons was outstanding.
  7. Josh Kerr sets a new 2 Mile World Record with a time of 8:00.67 at the Millrose Games in New York City. What a start to the year.
  8. National record for Laura Muir in the 2 mile at the Millrose Games in New York.
  9. Your Weather for this evening.
  10. The problem with our defence has gone on for the vast majority of the season. Since the home defeat to Mansfield, Notts under Luke Williams, played 14 games but suffered 8 defeats & accrued just 18 points from those games. For anyone else that statistic could have had some owners looking at dismissing the Head Coach. We owe Luke Williams a lot for what he did in getting Notts promoted, but even he could not solve our defensive frailties. We all need to get behind Stuart, because he's trying to do something about it
  11. A great week for Harriet Dart at the Transylvania Open. A great run to the singles semi final and with Tereza Mihalikova, runners up in the doubles too.
  12. It's been a great week for Heather Watson.
  13. Your Weather for Sunday afternoon.
  14. A very revealing Statistic. It also demonstrates that if we had kept our form, we would have been right up there challenging for automatic promotion.
  15. Just failed my abseiling exam. I let myself down badly there.
  16. Your Sundays Weather.
  17. What Notts still have going for them regardless of the problems in defence, is the second best, and arguably, the best attacking force in the league. Every team that we meet will be very weary of how Notts can tear opponents apart on their day. We saw an improvement in our defence against Barrow and Mansfield, if we can play with the same commitment and team spirit we showed against Mansfield in that first half,we can still cause any side problems including Newport. It will be no surprise to anyone that the key area that will decide this match, will be if the Notts team can successfully defend on Tuesday. I would change the defensive line to a back 4 with 5 in midfield & Macaulay up front, Crowley & Jones supporting Macaulay from midfield. I would rest Nemane & McGoldrick & replace with Macari & Austin. I believe we should be more defensively minded for this game, because it is vital we get a result here. A win would be fabulous but a draw would be fine
  18. @TheSkipper I agree. I would go further and rest Didzy and Nemane on Tuesday and play a back 4, bring Macari and Sam in and have 5 in midfield and leave Macaulay up front on his own. We have to get at least a point on Tuesday.
  19. A wet start to Sunday for eastern districts as rain slowly moves northwards Fog patches slowly clearing to sunny spells elsewhere, but with showers arriving from the west
  20. Agree @RetroPie some are blaming Stuart, but how can it be his fault? Luke had half a season to sort it and didn't. The players are just not learning from their mistakes. I see changes coming against Newport on Tuesday.
