Two League 2 matches tonight.Crewe v Newport Oldham v Walsall.Another takeaway is just a confirmation that the Notts squad is stronger than the squad that began the season. The squad has now clicked under Martin Paterson's leadership.Very well-deserved as well. So pleased he's doing well. It would be a great story if he could get York promoted to the Football League at the end of the season. They do have some fierce competition In Rochdale, Forest Green & Carlisle who I'm sure will be wanting to get promoted too. The National League is certainly going to be very competitive this season with the standard being high. I think many pundits make a good case for the NL to become League 3 & join the EFL one of these days.What are your takeaways from the win against MK Dons? In my opinion I think the win demonstrated once again that under Martin Paterson, this side can still win even though they have been dominated by their opponents for long periods of the match. When Notts had to defend in the 2nd half, they showed character, grit, determination & lots of spirit to keep MK out. That's what Martin Paterson has brought to the Notts squad. It's a big difference in the mentality compared to previous seasons which makes me believe that this squad, with a few additions in January, can have a successful season ahead.The Notts team including the substitutes worked their socks off to get this fantastic result. Every player played their part. Special mention to Roos, who carried on with his improved form, Norburn, who I thought had his best match for Notts, the three goalscorers who all took their opportunities well, the Notts defensive three who remained solid in the 2nd half & the substitutes that all played their part. Three players stood out for me, Norburn, Jatta & Iorpenda, with Roos not far behind. I'm going to go for Iorpenda who I believe is growing in every game he plays.
