Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
@Wheelbarrow repair man @PiethagoramI'm going to remain positive and optimistic about our chances next season. We scored 2 goals against by far the best team in the league, for periods of that match we were dominating them. If it weren't for the mistakes at the back by the same players once again we could have easily got a creditable draw last night. Warner was never going to be a success, he just doesn't have the strength or aerial skill that we need in defence right now and that's what we are lacking.. The defensive unit we had last night were simply not good enough and haven't been since the last 5 games of the NL season. If Jatta and Macari has played, if they had played Scott instead of Didzy, if they had started with Robertson instead of the dissapointing Bostock, things might have been different altogether. Mansfield, Wrexham and Stockport have strong squads, that's the key, as well as bringing in new players we need depth when we get injuries, where players can come in and the side isn't significantly weakened. Let's trust the powers at be recognise that and will make sure that happens.

@Wheelbarrow repair man Stockport are the best team in the division. They've won the league on merit. It was always going to be hard to win this match especially when we learned that Jatta and Macari were out injured. We know what the problems are with Notts. The same players make the same mistakes match after match but our squad is so thin we have to play them. With Baldwin, Brindley and Cameron at the back that gave me alarm bells and my concern was proved right. Next season Notts will have players that can play out from the back with confidence & will be comfortable on the ball, and will be League 2 Standard at least. This season is practically over but things can only get better, and it starts with Colchester on Saturday. Let's get to the end of the season with two wins, then the rebuild begins- Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
@Fozzy I agree with you. I am optimistic for next season. We could easily have won this match without the individual errors. We know the players that are not good enough at this level and they should be released or transferred. With the right players we can challenge next season. We are very capable of winning our last two games and we should aim to do just that. With the pressure off, Notts can go out and express themselves to the full starting against Colchester on Saturday.- Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
We got some pride back in that second half, Langstaff could easily have had a hat trick in the game. We know what the problems are, the defence tonight simply not good enough, Bostock and Didzy very dissapointing. Our three substitutes made some difference in the second half. We missed Jatta big time, we had no outlet, and I'm sorry but as soon as I saw who we had at the back, I was concerned that we would concede a few. We know where the changes need to be made and that will be done. I'm pleased we scored two, another for Macca and Dan. 88 league goals now scored. We should make over 90 now.- UK Weather Watch.

But this is the whole problem with the way the richer clubs are allowed to sustain much larger losses than clubs that don't have a rich benefactor. That's down to the current FFP rules and if proposed changes to these rules are implemented, it will give richer clubs even more of an advantage. This again shows the unfairness throughout the football pyramid right from the top.Just look at all the teams at the very top of each league. It's no surprise that the top four in league 2 are four of the richest in the league. We know very well that Wrexham for definite and maybe Stockport too, will be challenging for promotion from League 1 next season, and Mansfield will be up their too with arguably, the best Manager. One silver lining though for Notts. With the right recruitment, Notts should be up there near the top next season, with these four of the richest clubs gone.- Cartoon Corner.

@Wheelbarrow repair man I think that it will probably be a Championship club that will probably bid for them. It would make sense to have them both in a package deal, Wrexham might be an interesting choice for them to go. Interestingly Notts could negotiate a deal that might include a swap deal plus cash for Macaulay and Jodi in exchange for a couple of Wrexham defenders or the same sort of deal could apply to Stockport too. Stockport were brutal when they left the NL by bringing in new players for league 2 when they got promoted, so they may also be attracted to a swap deal with Notts too Notts need two or three good defenders, a goalie and a defensive midfielder so there could be room for negotiation with both those promoted clubs.Important Information
