Notts County 5 v Morecambe 0, Match report.
It was simply a sensational performance by Notts, particularly in that first half, and Macaulay Langstaff bagging his first EFL hat trick. This guy is really making himself a legend at Notts

Paul Devlin's hip replacement
It's never nice to have to go through any operation even when you know it is going to improve your life. I wish Paul a speedy recovery.

Match Discussion: Game 26 - Super White Army (A)
I believe this slight change in formation where Macaulay has been given a free roll behind Didzy had worked well for us this last 3 games, Doncaster nor Morecambe could deal with it. I agree @Fozzy that Tranmere's form has picked up as late and we need to cut out the mistakes at the back to a minimum. It will be interesting how Tranmere play the game, whether they will let us have the majority of possession, like most teams have done this season,.and hope to hit us on the break, or keep more of the ball themselves.

Great goal by Macaulay. He's so deadly either inside or outside the box.

Howard Wilkinson, Mary Earps recognised in the New Years Honours list
I agree @Chris When you look at other sporting icons & those outside sport, who were more deserving of recognition & didn't get it. This seems to happen a lot.
-
Howard Wilkinson, Mary Earps recognised in the New Years Honours list
I agree @Piethagoram about Jimmy. A Manager that took a club from the 4th Division up to the Ist should have had more recognition from the powers that be. The achievement may never ever be repeated.

Pleased for our local sporting heroes, & especially pleased for Howard Wilkinson. He deserves it for his work in Football and his charity work.

I agree. If there is a bid in for Langstaff from a Championship club & I hope there isn't, it has to be £5million minimum. He's too valuable an asset to even consider less than that.

- Albert W Fisher: Notts County Manager
Albert William Fisher (Feb 1881 – 4 Dec 1937) was an English professional footballer who scored 23 goals from 56 appearances in the Football League playing as an inside forward for Aston Villa, Bristol City & Manchester City. He also played for Southern League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion, Bradford Park Avenue, Queens Park Rangers, Coventry City and Merthyr Town. As player-manager, he led Merthyr Town to the Southern League Second Division title in 1911/12. Albert joined Notts County as Secretary Manager, (that's what they called Managers then), succeeding the previous Manager, Tom Harris in Aug 1913 & Managed the club through World War 1 till May 1927. He guided Notts to the Division 2 title in the 1913/14 and 1922/23 seasons. In all Albert Managed Notts over 444 matches, winning 167, drawing 114, & losing 163 with a win percentage of 39.62% (source Google) Albert is another Notts County great that got us promoted twice into the top tier of English Football, & thus cementing his legendary status at our club.- 2023 total football!
I agree with these posters. Having been watching football for over 55 years I have seen a decade by decade improvement in the standard of football over all the four top divisions and the top tier of non league. The top six teams challenging for promotion from League 2 this year could easily compete in the 2nd tier of 25 years ago in my opinion. And I believe the Premier League has lifted this standard all round, although there remains a big gulf between Premier League & the Championship.- Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Shrimps (H)
The attendance against Morecambe was 9,786 including 179 away supporters. A great turnout for a night match against a mid table side.- Fact of the day
It was always going to be hard to replace Ruben, but in Dan we have a real gem.. Not only is he an excellent playmaker, he also adds to our threat up front too, by the way he glides Into the opposition penalty box like a.centre forward,, to get on the end of those crosses. It certainly gives Notts an extra dimension up front too.- Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Shrimps (H)
