Luke Williams to Swansea?
@Fozzy the grass is not always greener on the other side is it

Luke Williams to Swansea?
I'm sad. But if he does go, and it looks likely, he will always be regarded as a Notts County great & he will always be welcome at our club.

- Luke Williams to Swansea?
This news seems to be coming from a reliable source, but I hope it's not true.- The goalkeeping situation
I think your right about Stone @Fozzy Brooks should be given a go, I think players on the fringe should be given a start like Junior just to give the opposition something different to think about. Giving Macaulay a free role seemed to work in the 3 games before Tranmere. Just doing something different. Do what the opposition don't want- sum how watching notts makes you feel right now
It seems much easier to add video from X, but I'm still learning I suppose.- Can Notts County make the playoffs?
Last season, Salford City made the playoffs in 7th place with 22 wins, 9 draws, 15 losses & 75 points. I think to be safe in the playoffs this season 80 points may achieve it for Notts this season. Notts have accrued 42 points from 26 games So far. So 38 points minimum from 20 games left is doable. 12 wins and two draws would do it, allowing for 6 additional losses. Anything more from those 6 games would be a bonus. It is going to be a stretch though. We have some tough games still to come against the top four, Mansfield, Barrow, Wrexham, & Stockport, & all the other games will be tough too, but I am confident we still have a good chance of making the playoffs. Thoughts?- Notts County top Scorers to date in top 4 Divisions
Just imagine if our defence was up to it, Where would we be in league 2 now?- Ratings v Tranny
Agree @Michael D P if a team is leaking goals like no tomorrow one has to have a plan B. Of course look for new players, but even new players will find it difficult by the way we keep exposing ourselves on away trips. Of course we would like to win every away game, but most clubs play not to lose away, & if they get a win, that's a bonus.- Prediction league 23/24 round 27 - Saturday 6 January

@DangerousSausage Wow, I'm off the bottom. My Head Coach must be doing something good ????- A trip down Memory Lane (5)
A bit of Notts County nostalgia from 48 years ago. Fulham v Notts Nov 1976.. see if you can pick out some of our greats in action.- The Best Goal Scored in FA Cup History.
I think it would be difficult to rule out Ronnie Radford's goal for non league Hereford v Newcastle in February 1972, when Radford helped Hereford beat First Division Newcastle in a Third Round Replay. Just look at the state of the pitch.- What Are You Currently Listening to, Album and Single-wise?
60s, 70s, & 80s is what I listen to every day. My favourite artists are Deep Purple & Uriah Heep- Jaden Warner to Notts ?
Looks like Warner looks a decent player on the video, quick and skillful. But I believe we need an experienced, tall, strong, tenacious defender who doesn't switch off and isn't afraid to tackle. Not sure if Warner fit the bill in all those things.- Match Discussion: Game 26 - Super White Army (A)
In reply to your post @menzinho I agree with the problem dealing with the counter attacking threat. We saw when we played Wrexham away in the NL we were under threat on the Counter attack by a good side. Now we have many good sides in League 2 & we are under threat every week but it seems nothing has been done to counter that threat. We need a plan B.- Ollie Tipton recalled by Wolves.
Luke may be involved but does he have the final decision? He either has or he hasn't. Either way the recruitment decisions are a little wanting.- Ollie Tipton recalled by Wolves.
I Agree @Piethagoram Why not let the Head Coach have the final decision on recruitment. If the Head Coach doesn't like, get on with, nor rate the recruit, or the recruit doesn't fit into his system of play, he's not going to play him. We've seen the same thing at other clubs. I know coaches have a lot to do, but surely meetings can be held, so recruiters know what type of player the Coach wants.- Ollie Tipton recalled by Wolves.
Doesn't say much for our recruitment team does it. Tipton gone, Gosling maybe, and Morias can't get a regular game- Ollie Tipton recalled by Wolves.
He seemed to have been a good signing but was never given much of an opportunity to shine in his time with us- Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Saddlers (H)
As I write this we've lost to Tranmere by a similar pattern. I agree that teams have figured us out. Luke Williams has done wonders for us since he became Head Coach, but he is stubborn, continuing with the same tactics that aren't working especially away from home. I agree he has no plan B.- Historical Notts County Players:Tom Keetley.
Thomas Keetley (16 November 1898 – 18 August 1958) was an English professional footballer who played as a centre forward. He scored 284 Football League goals between 1919 and 1934 Tom Keetley, a footballer who played for Notts County between 1929 & 1933 scoring 98 goals from 110 appearances including FA Cup, a phenomenal number at nearly a goal a game.Tom held the record for most goals in a season for Notts till Macaulay Langstaff beat Tom's record in the 2023/23 season. Life and Career. Keetley was one of eleven brothers and one sister he was born in Derby and came from a footballing family with several other brothers who played professionally including Arthur, Harry, Joe, Frank and Charlie. The first Football League side he played for was Bradford Park Avenue, and he first played in the league for them in 1919–20, going on to make 22 league appearances for them over a four-season period. In 1923–24 he first played league football for Doncaster Rovers, a club which three of his brothers (Harry, Joe and Frank) played for in their careers. He remains the all-time top scorer for Doncaster with 180 league goals. He also holds the club record for scoring six goals in one game, against Ashington in the Third Division (North) on 16 February 1929. In 1929 he moved to Notts County for £750, where he scored his first hat-trick for the club on his debut, in a 3–1 win against Bristol City on 30 August 1929. Keetley scored 39 league goals for Notts during the 1930–31 season, a record that would stand for 92 years until surpassed by Macaulay Langstaff in 2023. He left Notts in 1933 to join Lincoln City, having scored 94 goals in 103 league appearances and four goals in seven FA Cup ties. He played just ten games for Lincoln in 1934 before briefly moving onto non-League Gresley Rovers in 1934, and then Heanor Town. He is 29th in the all-time top scorers list in league football in England and Scotland having the 9th highest goals per game ratio of 0.75. As of June 2005 he was ranked 19th in the all-time list of highest scoring players scoring in English league football, having scored 284 goals between 1919 and 1934. After his professional career ended he was landlord of the Rose and Crown in Chellaston, Derby. (Source Wiki)- The goalkeeping situation
@Ohh Tommy Johnson I agree, I wouldn't like us to change to a direct style even half of the time, because trying to play attractive football is great ethic and it must continue, but we see teams week after week now executing the same tactics to counter our style & unfortunately it is working, so we have to try to counter it.- The goalkeeping situation
Well put @Ohh Tommy Johnson agree with what you say. All I would say is. If a system of play clearly isn't working it needs to be modified. What worked in the national league is clearly not working for us defensively in league two. We've scored several times by employing the direct approach. That & being more defensively minded may be an option when playing away.- Old tram for Arnold outside Nottingham Victoria station
@Fan of Big Tone Those photos bring back memories for me even as a 4 year old. How time has flown. Victoria Station, Trolley Buses, Wollaton & Clifton Coal mines all gone now. - Luke Williams to Swansea?
