  1. Macaulay has written himself into Notts County folklore with his goals that got us back into the Football League. I just hope that he will stick around at Meadow Lane for a few years because he can certainly make more history for Notts & help us to climb that Football pyramid.
  2. Notts Country is a founding member of the Football League and now has 5000 league matches behind them. What a fantastic achievement and what a legacy to have. I'm so immensely proud of my club.
  3. Again, expert analysis by Mark. I agree that we are lacking inspiration on the pitch at this time. I believe that confidence leads to an inspired performance & confidence is clearly on the low side following a poor set of results. I do believe that we could do no wrong by signing a player with a presence on the pitch, who's prepared get stuck in, a bit of a hard man, tall, strong, & can lead & inspire others on the pitch, a Brian Kilcline type. I'd also sign an additional defender, defensive midfielder & additional attacker. I also believe our tactics should be a little different for away matches being a little more defensive & rely on the quick break more.We have shown that we can create & score goals playing in different ways. We will always be a threat to any side with our forward line. In the end it is Luke that has to get things right, and I'm confident he'll do that.
  4. I believe Luke is the best Manager to take us forward and possibly get us into the playoffs at the end of the regular season. I love to see passion in a Manager and Luke has lots of that. I believe it only needs the right players to come in at the January window to turn our fortunes around, and I want some of Luke's passion transferred into the way we play too. In the new year, I'd like to see the 50 point mark achieved first then push on from there.
  5. Hello @StanfordPie Welcome to PON. Great to have you onboard.
  6. On the whole it was a much better performance by the lads tonight. We needed to be near our best and I believe we were. Unfortunately we once again became undone with silly errors. I am encouraged to see that we are still scoring goals in virtually every game we play. Cut out the silly errors defensively and we can still finish in and around the playoffs. January transfer window will probably decide our season.
  7. I thought it would be a score draw tonight. Like you pleased with the performance and it could have easily turned out a much better result tonight.
  8. Agree. We competed very well with them. We know we can score against any team in this league & we did again tonight. Cut down those goals conceded then we can start winning matches again & rise up that table.
  9. Much better performance, punished for silly mistakes at the back again. Stockport are a top side and we gave them problems. Have to take our chances though. Transfer window gets more and more important. We need two defenders, a defensive midfielder and a striker. Sort out the mistakes and we will make the play offs.
  10. I heard Luke has been linked to the Swansea job too over the last few days. It's the usual media speculation. Luke has a project to complete at Notts and I hope he stays with Notts and he continues to make history here.
  11. Strong team for tonight's match
  12. One thing is for sure, Maca has been making history of his own, by his record goal scoring that gave us back our league status, and his continued success at this higher level. Long may it continue.
  13. Our defence is going to be key tonight. I'm sure Luke has been working on this flat out in training. I genuinely believe that if the opposition do not score we can win every single game we play. We have arguably the best attacking force in the league. If our defence had played anywhere near to what they could have done, we could have been leading this league by several points by now. I'm hoping for a draw tonight because that would be an excellent result for us. Stockport, apart from their 8:0 win, have been leaking goals of late, so a score draw could be a possibility. If we are still in a playoff position at the end of the year that would still be a success, with the January transfer window approaching.
  14. I truely believe that when we look back at Luke's tenure, & I trust it is going to be a long one, he is going to be ranked alongside Jimmy & Neil for what he has done for this Club. But for me, it is not just about results, it's also about the man himself, and he shares with them both a passion for the club as well has his skills as a manager.
  15. I think that Stockport will be very weary of what Maca can do to them. They will be showing our forward line a great deal of respect. We know we can hurt them. We just have to play at our best all over the park tonight, and try to cut out those errors that are gifting our opposition easy pickings of late. With a bit of luck we can get a score draw out of the most important match of the season to date.
  16. Under Luke Williams our style of play has been very successful for us. Teams have come to our place and played very defensively. Playing away we try to play in a similar way. I just wonder if it is time to play a little more defensively on our away travels and try to hit teams on the break. We definitely have the players to do it. Stockport are sure to have a lot of the ball at their place, but I'm sure they will be worried about what we can do on the break. Could this be our plan B?
  17. On our day we know that we are capable of beating anyone in this league. A good performance and result tonight would kickstart our season and would also put a positive spin on things going into the January transfer window.
