Good morning it’s a bright start here in York but it’s forecast to rain later. Yesterday we went to the Yorvik Centre to learn all about the Vikings, it was fascinating stuff, we boarded a “Time Machine” which was like a dodgem car and we were whisked back in time travelling through the streets of York as they would have been during the Viking times, there were moving mannequins depicting people going about there everyday business. Today we’ll go to the castle museum to see more modern history. Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it’s dry here in York but no sign of the sun yet. I managed to do the park run yesterday which is literally five minutes walk from where we are staying on the York Racecourse, luckily they didn’t make us jump over the hurdles. It’s a very popular run with nearly 800 runners/joggers/walkers, it took a while after the starting whistle before I could actually break into a run because of the sheer number of people. I’m aching a bit this morning. Afterwards I managed to watch part of the Notts match on my iPad after missing the two Notts goals, apparently it doesn’t work on laptops which is annoying. I did see the goals on the highlights however what a great dink over the keeper for Didzy’s goal. Today we are having a walk into York. Have a great day folks.

Tony Hateley died on this day 11 years ago, my all time favourite player, for those who never saw him play he was a typical centre forward very much in the mould of Jatta today, if the crosses were put in he would score whether it was by leaping like a salmon to head a goal or using his silky skills on the ground. A great all round player.

I watched the match on my tablet, I thought McGoldricks cheeky dink over the keeper was real class and he seemed to be all over the pitch, so he gets my vote. I was also impressed with Whitaker who I thought had a very good game.

@super_ram it can’t be nice having constant noise and hassle, I hope the new tenants on the 8th are nice quiet folk We are awake early this morning because we are off to York for a weeks holiday, we are renting a house for a week just outside the city and a gentle 30 minutes walk to the city walls or a 10 minute bus ride if we feel idle. We can’t get in until 4pm so we’ve booked tickets for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is just outside Leeds around half way, so we’ll have a walk round there at lunch time then carry on to our accommodation. I hope everyone has a good day.

I was a fan of Marianne Faithful in fact I was secretly in love with her, she was beautiful, don’t tell Mrs. T. I’m so sorry to hear she’s passed away, may she rest in peace. @super_ram your neighbours sound delightful. 😒 I feel so lucky to have neighbours each side who are really nice, they are about the same age as us and we know that if we needed help they’d be there for us as we would for them. When you move into a house you never know who you’ll get next door so it’s a bit of a lottery.
