Morning all, it’s the last day of our mini break in Derbyshire, we’ll be heading home later to pick the cat up from the cattery and putting the bins out ready for tomorrow, oh well all good things come to an end, we’ve had a great time and we’ll definitely return here.

Hi Alex There are a few historic pubs in Nottingham you might like to visit, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is reputed to be the oldest pub in England, The Salutation on Maid Marion Way, Bell Inn in the market square are also worth a visit. Nottingham Castle and Wollaton Hall have museums, the galleries of justice, Nottinghams Caves, Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and the Major Oak. That’s a few to be going on with I’m sure other people will be along soon with recommendations. Don’t forget to take in a match at Meadow Lane of course if you can.

As you say @Robbie an encouraging result hopefully this will calm a few nerves in the run up to the new sea season, now we need more good news on the transfer front and I think people will feel a little happier.

Calm down folks we haven’t kicked a ball in anger yet, I can understand the frustration and I feel it a little myself but I try to have a positive outlook, I’ll judge how things are going when we played 10 games or so, there’s no need to panic just yet. There’s time to sign the 3 or 4 players MP is looking for, I’m sure they are working hard behind the scenes. Plus we beat Port Vale 3-1 today, that’s got to be a positive.

Morning all, it looks like it’ll be a dismal day here in the peaks, we might just have a day at the van chilling. Yesterday we had a walk around New Mills following a tourist leaflet highlighting some interesting historic buildings and facts about the town, we popped into a local pub which was a starting point for a stagecoach to Stockport before the railways put them out of business. We were pleasantly surprised how friendly the locals were. Later we had a walk around the countryside surrounding the farm where we are staying it’s beautiful and so peaceful.

@theAnticlough we were wondering about going to Hadfield, we loved The League of Gentlemen. We’ve got thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow so it might be a good day to go, we could seek shelter in the local shop for local people.

Morning all, a nice sunny start here in Derbyshire, we had a lovely day yesterday, we had a long walk around a little village called Hayfield, we used to camp there years ago when we had a camper van, it was one of our favourite places. There some lovely countryside to admire and we hardly saw a soul. D Did anyone watch The Lionesses last night it certainly kept me on the edge of my seat, 2-0 down pulled back to 2-2 just before the end, then still 2-2 after extra time, the penalty shoot out was equally fraught with misses on both sides but England won in the end, quite some match.

It’s not my caravan we haven’t got one, we are renting it from the farmer.
