We’ve got a caravan on a farm not far from Buxton, the start of our holiday didn’t go too well, the caravan was supposed to be open and ready when we arrived but it was locked, we couldn’t get in, there was no one in the far house and no one answered the phone, so we had to wait around for an hour until eventually the farmer came and let us in, they had forgotten we were coming. Later his daughter came to the van with a bottle of wine and chocolate and apologised profusely. By that time all my previous anger and stress had gone so we accepted the apology and gifts, I suppose mistakes do happen. It’s a lovely modern van and very comfortable, with some lovely views over the fields to Manchester, I think we’ll be happy here for a few days.

Good morning all, @theAnticlough ive not seen that or heard of John Shuttleworth, I’ll have a ok. Well we had quite a bit of rain yesterday and overnight I’m pleased to say, that should please @Robbie and all keen gardeners, not to mention the farmers but I would like to put in a request that it holds off now for the next few days until Sunday as we are having a little break in Derbyshire in a caravan and we want to have a few walks so no more rain dances for a while please.

I imagine that if you pay with a card it will take the equivalent £££s from your account. I hope the team put on a good performance for the travelling fans, they should be getting fitter now and hopefully Martin is beginning to get an idea of what works and what doesn’t. Should be a good game. 🤞

I love Scotland i The scenery is so beautiful but it’s a bit of a lottery with the weather. @Chris our son works from home three days a week, the travels to London for two days, he recently decided that sitting at a desk for long periods when at home is not good for him so he bought a desk that you can stand up at. When I worked in a newspaper office we were supposed to get up and walk round every half hour or so but in practice it didn’t really happen otherwise we’d never have got the papers out on time.
