  1. It’s a fair question. The current squad has talent, but League One is tougher than League Two. If promotion happens, keep the core players and add multiple solid signings to shore up defence and midfield. That gives us a base to grow into the higher pace and pressure. Avoid a big clear out and rebuild all at once.
  2. Supporters want a plan and a timetable. If results stay patchy, we need to see a plan B in the league. Martin Paterson has to show he can change shape mid game and still keep our identity. Patience is hard, but it’s part of building a club that lasts.
  3. The Reedtz must stick with the current setup, but come January they need to make a couple of signings to strengthen the squad. I can’t see why we brought Tyreese Hall to the club; he’s very lightweight and at times looks scared to be on the ball. I don’t see him improving much. It’s unfortunate, but not every loan will work out. Sacking Martin Paterson could undo all of their hard work, and I feel we must settle down again with the coaching staff. It highlights the point that a third season, albeit two and a half, might not have been the worst decision in keeping him on. Playoffs, in hindsight of our budget, seem quite good. Paterson, on the other hand, is no worse or better; he has a different idea about things, and it’s that change which seems to be the struggling point.
  4. I liked the tongue-in-cheek comment, but for those who don’t know, it was only because Barcelona’s Nou Camp is not open at the moment. The attendance of 6,000 was the full capacity of the stadium where the game was played. https://www.sportingpedia.com/2025/09/10/barcelona-set-for-historic-low-attendance-as-la-liga-match-moves-to-estadi-johan-cruyff/
  5. The difference between Gillingham and Notts was clear. They handled the situation better, got stuck in, and looked like a group of men. Notts didn’t have that same presence. We were pushed, pulled, and drawn into giving away easy fouls. Some of the decisions made by the referee and officials were never fouls at all. We need to cope better with the dark arts of the game because we can’t always play our way out of everything.
  6. I am very much enjoying this site, it's great to see fans discussing Notts in such depth and interesting takes. 👍🏻
  7. Notts needs to keep chasing the wins, even if the game isn’t pretty or exciting. A solid performance against an early‑inform team could show us where we are and where this squad could be heading. Hands on heart, I hope we can get the three points, but I won’t be too disappointed if we aren’t at our best.
  8. Those complaining about the infrastructure are short-minded fans who want Notts to live in the stone ages and never be in a position to match more elite clubs that don’t have to worry about the facilities they have because they are state of the art. Every season we would fall further and further behind; nobody ever complains about the pitches, work and they shouldn’t - other areas. It’s just excuses to complain and something to argue is holding us back, when it allows Notts to move forward.
  9. Well done to Rod McDonald, he’s taking his chance with Matty Platt out, and it’s good to see a defender winning this, as it shows how strong things at the back have been. It’s encouraging to see that depth in defence being utilised.
  10. I don’t really care, him and Paul Mullin could be ***ts. Sorry, I’ll keep it clean. It will be interesting to see how he does with Swindon, but if we had the wages he would want, I would rather they spent it on someone coming through personally.
  11. I think the club could do better at handling some of the incidents we see. That’s why Jason Turner’s updates were the most valued and important, because they often touched on fans’ concerns. If the club is going along with Jatta, his agent, and it’s true he doesn’t want to risk being injured, or for whatever reason a mistruth is being used to hide the real story, then it’s for the club to treat people like adults.
  12. I think Bromley will know we try to play it down the channels, and as a team that had done well against us before, we need to make sure that our football isn’t predictable or sloppy. I don’t mind conceding good goals, but defensively we did look much better last season than we have so far. I can see it being a goalless draw myself.
  13. Is anyone complaining about Ukraine's missing football grounds? It's a shame if any footballer (or person) dies, but stadiums can be rebuilt. It is a pity to see them end up as rubble, but the political side should be kept clear of in this discussion.
  14. He does look like an excellent player; we just need to keep him fit and performing at his best. Well done to Nick, that’s impressive, votes in his favour.
  15. Why would he want to tarnish the chance we have given him? It would be a major let-down to the fans who have stood behind him. No player is bigger than the club, and I hope Jatta isn’t playing silly games.
