  1. Slocombe 5 - Didn't have much to do. Kept slipping over Brindley 4 - Inconsistent when deciding on whether to join the attack or not Graham 4 - Started well and then became sloppy with his distribution Lacey 4 - What has happened to this guy? Monsters from space jam have drained the talent out of him. Constantly falling over and had a disaster for the goal Chicksen 3 - Crossing was poor as was his all round game O'Brien 4 - Some ok passes but was apart of a midfield that didn't take control Doyle 4 - Was decent early on but his control on the game slipped away from him as the game went on Reeves 4 - Poor in possession and too many sideways passes Rodrigues 4 - Another who started well and showed glimpses but his contribution waned Wootton 3 - Couldn't keep control of the ball, gave away too many fouls and missed a glaring opportunity Thomas 4 - Lively at times but lacking end product Boldewijn 3 - Still waiting for him to come on Sam 3 - Should've scored. Not sure why we signed him Turner 4 - Only player playing a forward pass by the 90th minute. Hard to rate a defensive substitute
  2. Lee Hughes Kyle Wootton Kristian Dennis Jonathan Forte Kane Hemmings
  3. I had 16 points in the 55th minute. That would've been my record points total on a single round. Gutted . Even if just the Ipswich score stayed the same I would've been level. Ah well, swings and roundabouts. We go again next time
  4. Brentford 2-1 Swansea City Norwich City 1-0 Millwall Crewe Alexandra 2-1 Gillingham Sunderland 1-1 Ipswich Town (Joker) Lincoln City 1-0 Portsmouth Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Mansfield Town Cambridge United 2-1 Salford City Harrogate Town 0-0 Tranmere Rovers

  6. Funnily enough, I was thinking of doing a video like this on my channel. A quick summarization of the first few weeks of the league
  7. Brentford 1-1 Norwich City Swansea City 0-1 Stoke City Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Doncaster Rovers (Joker) Fleetwood Town 1-0 Shrewsbury Town Rochdale 0-2 Sunderland Bromley 2-0 Weymouth Stockport County 1-1 Solihull Moors Maidenhead United 1-2 Dagenham & Redbridge

  10. The absence of Kristian Dennis is a big loss. His movement, positioning, link up play and finishing is a big miss. Kyle Wootton has started this season brilliantly but when he's not playing we need someone to step up. Thomas looks good on the wing of a front three, pressing the opposition, as does Knowles. However, Knowles is only 18 and Sam is someway off being ready and we can't afford to be patient if we want to win promotion. I am willing to give them time, but there is a fine balance between giving time and being ready.
  11. Slocombe 5 - Not helped by the Moniz esque defending in front of him McCrory 5 - Not a right-back but was good in the first half. Second half his performance dropped off like the whole team Rawlinson 4 - Not a good game by his standards. No clue what he's doing for the third and seemed happy to just give chances away Lacey 4 - Poor passing at times in the second half Chicksen 5 - Thought he was ok. Solid enough. Better than he was against Dover Doyle 5 - Like most of the team, his performances in both halves differed Reeves 6 - Always running with the ball from deep and his energy will be key this season Rodrigues 7 - Best player for us. Work rate, skill, passing and finishing. Very excited to see more Boldewijn 5 - Nice dummy for the second goal but apart from that, not much to speak about Knowles 6 - Promising signs shown. Nice finish and works well. Tiredness took it's toll Wootton 4 - Passing and first touch was off. Could tell he's played every game
  12. Barnsley fans rate him highly. Hearing good things about him. Needed that extra depth
  13. Birmingham City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday (Joker) Rotherham United 1-2 Norwich City Portsmouth 1-1 Doncaster Rovers Charlton Athletic 2-1 Wigan Athletic Walsall 1-2 Exeter City Mansfield Town 1-0 Bradford City Weymouth 1-1 King's Lynn Solihull Moors 2-1 Boreham Wood
  14. Accrington Stanley 2-1 Rochdale Swindon Town 3-1 AFC Wimbledon Cambridge United 1-1 Newport County Port Vale 2-0 Carlisle United Walsall 1-1 Colchester United (Joker) Bromley 2-1 Torquay United Maidenhead United 0-2 Hartlepool United Yeovil Town 1-1 Wrexham
  15. Need a centre mid now Sloth has departed as we now have only three proper centre mids and we can't go through the busy schedule with only Reeves, Doyle and O'Brien. Need a striker I would say as well
  16. If there was ever a game that screamed "typical Notts" that was it. It was a game that had draw written all over it for a long time. Saying that, we should have taken our chances. Roberts has to score. It's unmissable that chance. There is a Kristian Dennis sized hole in our striker department and it's clear we missed him, as in the final third today, we were tosh. There was also a hint of the first half of last season in there as well, as we didn't produce the clinical passes in the final third or take risks whilst attacking. We were too cautious at times.
  17. Had 11 points until the last 15 mins and ended up with 3. Hate football
  18. National League predictions 2020-21
  19. Reading 1-1 Watford Swansea City 0-1 Millwall Blackpool 1-1 Lincoln City Peterborough United 2-1 Swindon Town (Joker) Carlisle United 1-2 Barrow Tranmere Rovers 1-0 Scunthorpe United Altrincham 1-2 Weymouth Wrexham 1-1 Boreham Wood
  20. I imagine we will play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. Rodrigues and Enzio out wide. Reeves and Doyle in the centre with Jake pushing on. I can see Thomas starting up top. This is a good chance to get off to a good start. We should not underestimate Dover, but they have had the toughest summer out of any National League club (except for Macclesfield). If 4-4-2: Slocombe, Brindley, Rawlinson, Lacey, McCrory, Rodrigues, Reeves, Doyle, Enzio, Thomas, Wootton If 4-3-3: Slocombe, Brindley, Rawlinson, Lacey, McCrory, Doyle, Reeves, O'Brien, Rodrigues, Wootton, Enzio. Or play Rodri in the midfield 3 and play Thomas/Knowles out wide pushing their full-backs

  22. My worry is, is that we've spent the entirety of pre-season learning a new formation that won't get the best out of our best players (for now at the moment). We'll then play 4-4-2/4-3-3 opening day and we may have the risk that the new signings won't have the time to adapt to which one we play, despite the fact they are easier to learn. I'm also worried that we've not replaced Kristian Dennis. He bought a lot more to the team than what people may have thought. His link-up play, his movement, runs in behind and his positioning. Elisha Sam and Jimmy Knowles need time to settle in to how we play (and I will give them time as it can be difficult to adapt straight away), especially the former, but we need to be quick out the blocks this season so there is a fine line between having time to settle in and eventually getting up to speed. Pre-season is the time to experiment but I'm not keen on the diamond. It's most likely that we'll switch back to 4-4-2/4-3-3 next week as this is just a plan c/d to have throughout the season. I know Ardley has mentioned throughout pre-season that he and his staff know how many minutes each player has played. With the schedule being Sat/Tue/Sat for a while rotation is going to be important so this is good to see.
