Match Discussion: Game 36 - The Robins (A)
We've played 40 away games in the league since the start of last season (2017-18). We've won 9. 4 of them were in the first two months of last season as well. We've also drew 11 and lost 20. That's 38 points from a possible 120. Cheltenham have won 4 out of their last 5 home games. Cheltenham's 4 wins came against struggling teams and in their other home game, they drew 1-1 with Bury. There just feels a certain inevitability about tomorrow

ARLukomski: Notts County against Port Vale - dross all over
Notts County delivered yet another poor result as they drew 0-0 with Port Vale on Saturday, which keeps the Magpies five points adrift of safety. The game was dour and unispiring, with the 22nd-placed Valiants putting in a stronger performance than the beleaguered hosts at Meadow Lane. Vale pressed their game on the hosts early on in the game and dominated proceedings, with Tom Pope seeing a close-range header ruled out for offside and Tom Conlon hit the crossbar from 25 yards. In the end, the spoils were shared, just one point in the kind of fixture that Notts should be winning if they honestly want to survive relegation. Pride of Nottingham vlogger ARLukomski was at Meadow Lane to endure yet another deflating weekend, here is an account of his afternoon. Notts have met Port Vale 104 times in their history. Notts: 47 Draw: 21 Vale: 36 Notts currently have a three-game unbeaten run against Port Vale and have only lost 3 of their last 11 against The Valliants. Stats Notts will be looking to get back to winning ways following two successive defeats against Newport and Tranmere. Port Vale have only won two league games since they played Notts at Vale Park in the reverse fixture (November 3rd, 2018). Vale are the lowest scorers in the league (28) and have only scored once in their last six games. Stat Attack: Notts County hope for joy at Tranmere Rovers
Notts have met Tranmere 34 times. Notts: 18 Draw: 8 Tranmere: 18 The last time Notts won at Tranmere was in the 2010-11 season when Notts ended a run of 9 straight defeats and lifted themselves out of the relegation zone. Stats Tranmere’s home record this season stands at: PLD 16, W9, D4, L3. Notts have only played once away from home since deadline day, a 2-1 win at Forest Green Rovers. That was only their second away win all season, the other coming at Macclesfield. Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Stags (H)
Gomis and Mackail-Smith up front for me. Energy up front. Close down the three centre-halfs. Stop them from playing out from the back and stop them from getting the ball to Bishop. Whilst Hamilton, Walker and Grant do pose the dangers for Mansfield, Bishop is the one who makes things tick. He got sent off against Carlisle and they lost. He was suspended for Yeovil and they lost. He is the key. Need to isolate Bishop and reduce his impact on the game. Also, wind Preston up

ARLukomski: Much better as Notts County draw with Lincoln City
Following two weeks off and some deft reinforcements in the January transfer window, Notts County put in a much improved performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with League Two promotion chasers Lincoln City at Meadow Lane. The Magpies began superbly and were ahead after just two minutes when they won a penalty with their first meaningful attack, Harry Toffolo fouling Jon Stead, who was trying to get on the end of Mitch Rose's cross. Referee Antony Coggins pointed to the spot and the veteran striker, who had missed a penalty in front of the Kop against Bury during the festive period, made no mistake from the spot this time around. However, just before the break, Bruno Andrade drew the visitors level with a 20-yard strike that goalkeeper Ryan Schofield could not keep out, and come full time, the scoreline remained as such for a share of the spoils. Pride of Nottingham vlogger ARLukomski was at Meadow Lane for the game and was pleased with what he saw from the Magpies. Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Glovers (A)
If we don't win, we're finished. We must win. They've won once at home this season. Their last win at home before that was last February. Hopefully Vaughan is fully fit and he can slot in next to O'Brien in midfield so the latter doesn't have to do two jobs again

ARLukomski on Notts County vs Bury: The performance to turn things around?
Notts County put in a much-improved performance against Bury in a goalless draw that saw warm applause by the Black & White Army at full time. Neal Ardley had clearly talked some sense into his ailing players as they were bright from the off, with Rob Milsom going close with heading wide before rifling wide from just outside of the box, while Shaun Brisley also came close. David Vaughan then smashed the post with a superb effort from long range, while Kristian Dennis and Andy Kellett missed gilt-edged opportunities before the break, giving the Notts fans something to smile about - something which hasn't really happened often this season. In the second half, Bury picked up the pace as Chris Stokes headed just wide, but Notts soon regained the momentum and were given a superb opportunity from the spot when Andy Kellett's cross was handled in the box Jon Stead, County's top scorer with eight goals this season, took to the spot, but this time, Mr Reliable spurned the opportunity as he shanked his effort way over the bar into the Kop. Notts did dust themselves off and continued to impress, with Matt Tootle seeing a half-volley palmed away by Bury goalkeeper Joe Murphy, but in the end, the spoils were shared at the San Sirrel, with Notts three adrift of safety. Same team, same intensity, same shape. But just add a goal or two. I beg we don't just roll over like we always do away from home

Vlog: ARLukomski reacts to Notts County defeat against Macclesfield
Well, it's finally got to that stage. Notts County are bottom of the Football League. Macclesfield Town, managed by one-time Magpie Sol Campbell, put in a display that overshadowed the hosts at Meadow Lane and claimed a 2-1 win which saw them leapfrog Notts off the foot of League Two. Frankly, it's the same old story. An overall turgid display, the odd good moment following the equaliser where County looked as though they would go into the lead, only for shoddy defending to prove our downfall. Scott Wilson rattled home the opener in the first hald, making the most of plenty of space to apply a good finish past Ross Fitzsimons. Against the run of play, the second half brought a leveller for Neal Ardley's side when good hustling from Jon Stead lead to Keston Davies squaring for Kane Hemmings to drive home. Nine minutes from time, however, Wilson once again had the freedom of the area to sweep the ball into the bottom corner of the net nine minutes from time. Although the Silkmen saw a man sent off late on, the numerical advantage was chalked off as Davies was then shown a straight red card for firing the ball into an opposition player's face while on the ground. Long-suffering Notts fan ARLukomski, who's experienced far too much footballing misery for such a young man, continues to persevere with his superb vlogs - here's his latest entry. ARLukomski video on Grimsby Town loss: "All Notts aren't we"
Notts County will spend Christmas in the bottom two of League Two following their 4-0 hammering at Grimsby Town. The Mariners got off the mark after just over the three-minute mark, youngster Harry Clifton heading home on the rebound from Harry Cardwell's initial effort Notts then did enjoy a period of pressure but spurned their opportunities and before the break they fell further behind through Harry Davis, who rose highest to head home. Michael Jolley's side never looked back as Davis claimed his second and Grimsby's third, while Wes Thomas fired home on the volley to truly ruin the Black & White Army's Christmas. ARLukomski, the ever-loyal and long-suffering Notts County vlogger, has provided us with a great insight into the game at Blundell Park. Match Discussion: Game 24 - The Silkmen (H)
First and foremost. Tootle and Evina in for Hewitt and Jones. Hewitt isn't a right-back and Jones isn't a footballer. Play 4-4-2 with Thomas on one wing and either Osborne or Kellett on the other (clutching at straws). 2 up front. I don't think I have ever seen Notts play one up top and it work. We can't really do much to the squad until January
-
Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Mariners (A)
To be honest we are waiting till January to get a better left back in. Both Jones and Evina aren't that great. I don't think Milsom could do a worse job than both of them
-
Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Mariners (A)
Would maybe bring Evina in for Jones. Apart from that I would probably keep the same team. Davies to just sit in midfield and bulldoze people. Grimsby are unbeaten in 6 at home so they looked to have found a rhythm at Blundell Park despite struggling their earlier in the campaign

Stat Attack: Notts County prepare for trip to Mansfield Town
Notts County have met Mansfield Town 52 times over the years in the Nottinghamshire derby. Notts: 18 Draw: 15 Mansfield: 19 Notts haven’t won a Nottinghamshire derby in 13 years (Notts and Mansfield didn’t play each other in the league for 7 years between 2008 and 2015) and have lost on their last four visits to Field Mill for a league game. Since the derby resumed from 2015-16 onwards, Mansfield are unbeaten against winning 4 times and drawing twice with an aggregate score of 14-3. Stats Mansfield are on a 12-game unbeaten run in League Two and have only lost once this season (a 2-1 home loss to Exeter). In that run, they have won 5 and drew 7. Notts are winless in their last eight league games but with Neal Ardley now in charge, they hope the ex-Dons boss will steady the ship. In the eight-game winless run, Notts have drawn 4 and lost 4, scoring 6 and conceding 15. Seasons in each division First Division (or Prem): 0 Second Division (or Champ): 1 Third Division (or League 1): 42 Fourth Division (or League 2): 32 Non-League: 5 History Mansfield were elected to the football league in 1931. Mansfield have the oldest professional football ground, currently in the football league. March 1st is known as “Amber day” by Mansfield fans in reference to the day John Radford bought Field Mill from despised owner Keith Haslam. The Stags were the first club to complete an entire season unbeaten at home in the 1950-51 season. Team News Jon Stead looks set to return to the starting line-up for Notts whilst fellow striker Kane Hemmings has trained this week. Enzio Boldewijn and Lewis Alessandra will be out for a while with injuries picked up in November. Matt Tootle is doubtful, and Ben Hall will be out long term after rolling his ankle earlier this week. Alex MacDonald and Krystian Pearce may miss the game whilst CJ Hamilton played 45 minutes on Tuesday in the 1-0 Checkatrade Trophy loss to Bury. David Mirfin has resumed training in the past few weeks. Fully expecting Dan Jones to hit the Jones cold stunner on CJ Hamilton or whoever is playing on the right for Mansfield

Match Discussion: Game 21 - Stags (A)
2-0 Mansfield. Comfortable as cheese for them. We have no midfield, no right back, we can't defend crosses, we have no cohesion, we are 8 games without a win and they have lost once all season. I'm already preparing my disappointed face

ARLukomski: Notts County a letdown once again in the last 10 minutes in Carlisle United draw
Another matchday, another disappointing result as Notts County let a one-goal lead slip en route to a 1-1 draw with Carlisle United. In Steve Chettle's last game in interim charge, the Magpies were once again poor, but held out in the first half to remain level with the travelling Cumbrians. Notts went on to take the lead just after the hour mark, however, as Noor Husin's effort was cleared off the line before Elliott Hewitt reacted to stab home. But is it much of a surprise that things then didn't pan out? Not really, given the continuing narrative of this season. With just six minutes of standard time, Carlisle loanee Jerry Yates headed home to salvage a point for the visitors. ARLukomski, a teenage Notts fan who's had to put up with enough more football-related grief to last a thousand lifetimes by supporting the Magpies, speaks about the game in his latest vlog. Stat Attack: Can Notts County make it four unbeaten against Carlisle United?
Notts have met Carlisle 34 times in their history. Notts wins: 18 Draws: 4 Carlisle wins: 12 Notts are unbeaten in their last three against Carlisle, winning two and drawing one. This fixture rarely ends in a draw with only one game between the two sides in the last 15 meetings, ending in a draw. Stats Notts are winless in their last seven league games but they put in a better performance last time out, away at Morecambe. This will be Steve Chettle’s last game in caretaker charge before Neal Ardley takes full charge on Wednesday. Carlisle have fared a lot better away from home this season. They have lost six of their ten home games but have won five of their nine away games. Their last away game ended in a 4-0 win at Swindon. Seasons in each division First Division (or Prem): 1 Second Division (or Champ): 15 Third Division (or League 1): 41 Fourth Division (or League 2): 25 Non-League: 1 History Carlisle have reached the final of the Football League Trophy more times than any other club (6). They were top of the first division three games into the 1974-75 season. Team news Jon Stead and Kane Hemmings will return to the Notts squad after not being risked at the weekend against Morecambe. Enzio Boldewijn requires a knee scan to assess an injury he picked up on Saturday. Ben Hall is still recovering and is continuing taking up non-contact drills in training. Kelvin Etuhu returned from a hamstring injury at the weekend in Carlisle’s loss against Forest Green, coming on as 64th minute substitute. Stat Attack: Notts County hoping to beat Morecambe for third time in a row
Notts have met Morecambe 12 times in their history. Notts wins: 4 Draws: 3 Morecambe wins: 5 Before doing the double over Morecambe last season, Notts had a terrible record against The Shrimps, winning only two of the first ten meetings between the pair. Last seasons 4-1 win at the Globe Arena was Notts’ first win there. Four of the last seven meetings between the two have ended up finishing 4-1. (2009-10: Notts 4-1 Morecambe, 2015-16: Morecambe 4-1 Notts, 2016-17: Morecambe 4-1 Notts, 2017-18: Morecambe 1-4 Notts). 4 of the last 8 encounters have finished 4-1 which is quite incredible. Don't expect anything from this shambles at the minute. Nobody looks bothered, there is no system and it's only going to get worse until a new manager is appointed. 2-0 Morecambe

ARLukomski: Cheltenham Town loss shows Notts County at crisis point
Notts County's season continues to lurch from crisis to crisis with arguably the worst performance of the season - if not in recent years - against Cheltenham Town at Meadow Lane on Saturday. Following the impressive 4-2 win against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Trophy, there was some scope for optimism as Steve Chettle took over as interim boss after Harry Kewell's sacking. But against the struggling Robins, it was anything but, as a dour first-half performance for both sides nevertheless saw the visitors lead at the break from Luke Varney's simple goal. The Notts defence, time and time again not fit for purpose, was at fault for all of the three goals shipped against Cheltenham, a performance that led to fans literally queuing to leave well before full time. You've got to feel sorry for ARLukomski, still a teenager and subject to this psychological torture from watching the Magpies perform as they're doing - then again, that seems to be the fate of all us Notts fans. Here is his latest vlog, as he declares Notts to be at crisis point in a detailed analysis prior to, during and after the game.
