  1. I disagree. I'm sure there were more than just younger fans who said they would have kept Patching. The guy had the ability and potential but I think Ardley realised the circumstances and didn't want to jeopardise his development. The environment was not right. When you get yourself into a situation Notts did by January, your first instinct is to bring players in with experience. Tootle, Bird, Fitzsimons and Crawford praised his ability and apparently he had a good relationship with Neil Cox. Also if what Ardley said was nothing more than PR, why did he mention the stuff outside of football? Leigh Curtis' article is about it all sums it up perfectly in my opinion. https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/patching-departure-notts-county-down-3215896
  2. @NCRichie Solihull have bought well. They got their act together as a club in the summer of 2018 and they are making progress. Paul McCallum is a smart capture from Eastleigh (he was 2nd top scorer last season and they got him on a free). Mitch Hancox won this league with Macclesfield and Callum Howe is proven at this level with Harrogate and Lincoln. Bromley have made a good signing in Billy Bingham. Bringing Josh Rees back is a brilliant piece of business. Think he scored 16 a few seasons back for them from central midfield. Also scored two goalscorers in Michael Cheek and Adrian Clifton. Cheek has scored goals in Tier 5 for Ebbsfleet and Braintree before. Clifton scored 13 last season for Maidenhead and I think he swept all the end of season awards for United last season. Boreham Wood also did alright in the transfer market. Tyrone Marsh has experience at this level and won the league with Macc in 2018. Kabongo Tshimanga is a great signing. Scored 24 goals for Oxford City last season in National League South. Piero Mingoia is a capable winger shown from his spells at Accrington.

  5. An underused player in his time at Notts. He had promise and ability but never got a real run of games in the team. Good luck Will
  6. It will take time to settle. We have signed several players in such a short amount of time. We are basically a month behind every other team. However, we do need to see some progress being made. We need see aspects of the style of play we want to play and how we are going to win games. A lot of fans seem worried the squad will become bloated like last season. Others worry about our lack of creativity which for me is a big point. We have players in the reserves who can add something to the team but aren't being picked for one reason or another. Is it due to any of: Not being guaranteed game time, not in long term plans, attitude, falling out with Ardley. Who knows what the reasons are but we need creativity and progress

  8. The team needs time to settle but I need to start seeing signs of progress. There's only tiny bits there and then that make it seem like progression is being made. We really do need to start creating more chances
  9. Twice in a row I've got the joker correct

  11. https://mobile.twitter.com/Official_NCFC/status/1159392865698680832 Understand he's on a big wage but disappointed he's gone. Never used in the right way at Notts. Scored 14 goals in a team that struggled last season, despite being put on the wing for some games and being injured. Got a lot of undeserved stick in his time at Notts. Had good link up play and a good work rate as well Good luck to him
  12. Queens Park Rangers 2-2 Huddersfield Town Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Barnsley Fleetwood Town 2-1 AFC Wimbledon (Joker) Ipswich Town 0-0 Sunderland Walsall 0-1 Forest Green Rovers Macclesfield Town 0-1 Leyton Orient Yeovil Town 1-2 Stockport County Maidenhead United 1-1 Hartlepool United
  13. Notts 1-2 Stockport Notts - Hemmings Stockport - Palmer, Kirby
  14. The creativity hole can be filled by Andy Kellett or Will Patching playing in behind the striker in the No.10 role. Doyle shouldn't start in my opinion. We need to press forward when we get the ball in midfield. We do look better in defence however.
  15. Slocombe 6 - Thought he was comfortable in goal and gives me a lot more confidence than some of our past keepers. Kelly-Evans 5 - Tried and worked hard to get back as well as burst forward. Put a good tackle on Michael Green to win the ball back in the first half Oxlade-Chamberlain 2 - Two wayward passes almost cost us. He isn't a right-back and probably isn't a centre-back. What is his best position? McCrory 6 - Battled well against Tyrone Barnett and won his fair share of headers. Was the player who usually got us rolling, playing out from the back. No idea if the red card is deserved or harsh Bird 5 - Improved in the second half after a dodgy first. Can play the high line that you need to play if you have 3 centre-backs Bakayogo 6 - Notts' biggest outlet for about 15 minutes, bursting down the left, leaving Joe Partington behind. His influence negated after the switch to a 4-3-3 Doyle 2 - Starting to wonder what he brings to Notts' midfield. Red card was stupid. Slows play down. Shouldn't have started Rose 5 - Was quiet on occasions. Chipped in to win the ball back as well. O'Brien 5 - His service to Tyson and Enzio wasn't that great and sometimes he dropped too deep. Darted about the pitch like he usually does trying to influence but I think he would be suited to playing alongside Rose whilst either Kellett or Patching take the No.10 role Boldewijn 2 - Hid from the ball. Definitely a confidence player Tyson 5 - Wasn't much great service to him but he battled Subs Hemmings 3 - Think the reason he didn't start was due to an slight injury picked up in pre-season. Hopefully he recovers because he could be a key player for us this season. Turner 4 - When he came on, he was constantly talking with his defence which was good to see. Gives us an aerial threat from set-pieces Tootle 3 - Had a chance to put the ball across the box late on but instead decided to go back.

  17. Been playing there I think in pre-season. He isn't a right-back anyway
