Match highlights: Notts County 3-0 Newport County, Saturday 28 October 2017

Notts County have returned to the summit of League Two as Jorge Grant bagged a brace in a 3-0 win over 10-man Newport County.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 36th minute when he calmly slotted into the corner from inside the box after being played in by Jon Stead.

That came just three minutes after Dan Butler had seen red for catching Matt Tootle with his elbow in an aerial challenge.

Early in the second half, Shola Ameobi produced a powerful finish to double Notts' advantage.

Grant went on to score his second of the match three minutes later when he nodded in the rebound from his own saved shot.

He sadly missed out on a hat-trick when his free kick rattled the woodwork, but Notts still saw out the game without a reply from Newport and, combined with Luton Town's defeat, went back to the summit.
