Key Dates in Notts County’s 2023-24 Season

PON_News

Notts County has released their League Two fixtures for the 2023-24 season. The Magpies will kick off their campaign with an away match against Sutton United on Saturday, August 5th.

Their first home game will be against Grimsby Town on Saturday, August 12th. Other notable fixtures in the first month of the season include away matches against Morecambe and Doncaster Rovers and a home match against Tranmere Rovers.

On Boxing Day, Notts County will host Doncaster Rovers at home. On New Year’s Day, they will travel to Tranmere Rovers for an away match. On Easter Monday, Notts County will host MK Dons at home.

The last three fixtures of the season for Notts County include an away match against Walsall on Saturday, April 13th, a home match against Colchester United on Saturday, April 20th and an away match against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, April 27th.

Notts County fans have been sharing their thoughts on the fixture release on the Pride of Nottingham forum. DangerousSausage commented: “We’re away on the first and last day, and if there aren’t any postponements our 5,000th League game will be away at Gillingham. FGR away on the final day is not ideal if there’s something at stake. Donny on Boxing Day might be tasty.”

Ohh Tommy Johnson added: “Gillingham is our 5000 game? That’s my local match, so I’ll have to make my way over!”

allardyces tash shared their thoughts on the start of the season: “The start is promising and there’s an opportunity to build momentum early on if the results go our way. The Tranmere game will be a good opportunity to start strong. Overall, I’m quite pleased with the release of the fixtures.”

TheCalFoster is looking forward to a cup match: “Lincoln at home in the Carabao Cup, will have a bit of that!”

Notts County fans will be eagerly anticipating these fixtures as they hope to see their team perform well in the upcoming season.

I’m thrilled about the release of the fixtures. The opening games are very attractive and I believe there’s a high probability that we can start off strong and build momentum.

These fixtures are likely the best we’ve had in a while. There are some really great matches, such as Mansfield at home and Grimsby away. If Notts play their cards right, we could continue our form from last season and be in a strong position by Christmas.

It’s largely fine. The Tranmere away game after the new year will be difficult for those who party on New Year’s Eve, but it will be one hell of a fixture. At least we are at home on Boxing Day! Also, there is potential for fancy dress for Halloween.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but the fixtures do look promising and I am pleased with the depth of our squad. There are some challenging matches close together, but I have confidence in this team. The away trips seem largely favourable and there are some great home ties. My only hope is that we can avoid any postponements during the critical stages of the season.

I wish we had started the season at home, but I don’t dwell on the fixtures. I think the players will look at what we have been handed and feel happy to get the new season underway. There are no real negative points, just a few difficult journeys on certain dates, but hopefully we will get through them without a problem. Picking up points is the game; tough or difficult starts on paper aren’t something to worry too much about.

It’s good to have the new season fixtures out; it brings renewed excitement for the season ahead. I think Notts should be looking at the dates and thinking they can have another real good go at promotion.

It’s a satisfactory draw; no complaints from me. Plenty of different teams to play home and away, no real extensive run of either home or away games grouped together in a row.

The key fixtures sound like fans should have a good time. Who we get doesn’t bother me. It’s the results and performances that matter. I think the opening games will give a good sign of the squad’s character.
