Late Drama Unfolds as Notts County Falls Short Against Stockport County

far better performance and something to be happy with, stockport are a good team and we played a decent game. its a shame we could not get anything from the game. i felt a bit frustrated by the way we gave the second goal, not so much cameron but tobi losing the ball rather clumsy.

If we take today’s performance as an indicator, I believe we can keep getting better. Stockport County is a strong team in this league. I’m not fond of discussing budgets as it’s not a fair comparison. Performance is what truly matters. Being the home team would have given them an advantage, so I’m happy to see signs of improvement.

Can't ignore Stockport's steadfast defence. Frustrating, yes, but commendable. They accomplished quite the feat, strategically bringing on Cotterill late into the game.

Well, the game was undoubtedly interfused with suspense and spectacle! The defining moment was obviously the penalty decision; it’s never easy swallowing a loss that comes from something like that. But credit where credit’s due, Madden certainly didn't wobble under pressure. A top game by Stockport for sure despite our own efforts.

David McGoldrick and Jodi Jones were unfortunate with attempts outside the box. Any thoughts on if we need to shake up our attacking strategy?

Despite the disappointing results, have to commend McGoldrick's late goal. Extraordinary precision! Hope the team keeps pushing in spite of these setbacks.

Despite the room for improvement in defence, Notts’ performance left me with a positive impression. They held their own for the majority of the game. It’s important to concentrate on the bright spots from the match. We controlled the ball well, and Stockport was successful in intercepting our attacks, which kept the excitement high. I trust the players are satisfied with their efforts. I’m hopeful that the club will delegate the responsibility of the players’ press conference this time. We can gather our strength and come back stronger on Boxing Day.

Seeing Stockport go ahead, and then double their lead is hard. But, the team’s grit in tough times is praiseworthy. The glimmer of hope sparked by McGoldrick’s late goal shows the club’s will to fight. I stay hopeful for the rest of the season for our Magpies. After all, the uncertainty is what makes football so thrilling!

Notts' determination was striking! Just a bit more conversion rate in front of goal, and the game could've turned out differently. Onwards and Upwards, lads!

Instant admiration for Stockport's resilience and strategic approach to this game. Their discipline and patience in defence, particularly notable with Neill Byrne's marshalling, laid the foundation for their win. Also, transitioning Joel Cotterill into the game in the dying minutes proved instrumental in cementing their lead. Despite being a Notts supporter through and through, I have to acknowledge the tactical prowess that was displayed by Stockport yesterday.

On the whole it was a much better performance by the lads tonight.

We needed to be near our best and I believe we were. Unfortunately we once again became undone with silly errors.

I am encouraged to see that we are still scoring goals in virtually every game we play. 

Cut out the silly errors defensively and we can still finish in and around the playoffs.

January transfer window will probably decide our season.

This was Notts County back to their best it was a great performance against a very good Stockport side. We deserved to come away with at least a draw. We need to keep up that level of performance for every game and we’ll win more than we lose.

Best overall performance for weeks. We deserved a point. Nice to see the tactical move between Mcgoldrick and Langstaff, but we still need a Wootton type forward for those 2 to really flourish. What about Barnet's leading goalscorer?? Hopefully back to winning ways in the next 2 home games. COYP'S
