Heartbreaking for the family, I know what it is like to lose a son in his prime, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

 

RIP Butch.

Very sad what happened to Butch, he was a great player for us and I couldn't understand why we let him go.

if enough want it why not? i would do it around 5th year myself.

one of my alltime fav notts players from when i was going matches most weeks i hated the club when we let him go could never understand it bout only decent player we had at the time yet we held on 2 sh**e like stephen hunt.

It should be done every year for the first ten then every significant year thereafter, we as a club should also invite his family to attend the game also as they will be hurting more than I can understand and it would be nice for them understand what he means to Notts County.

 

Come on Notts lets make this happen.

It's anniversaries that bring the pain and heartache back to family and friends .My thoughts are with those who were close to him now.RIP Richard Butcher.

@Northants Pie - I think some fans would sadly say this too much and perhaps others wouldn't do it/want it.

I personally would like to pay respect to any of our players who impacted our history like Butch, we might not have done much during his time (apart from survive relegation) but he preserved our status, scored some wonderful goals and lead by example.

Really hope we do pay respect today, I'll clap regardless until kick off!
