hes a good player but even i dont think hes worth 37m, i dont think many players really are. the german striker who arsenal signed, hes not lived up to his price tag. man united need a player like mata, its a good move for them.

i thought united was skint?

United are skint. The Glazers are piling up the debt to buy players. Great signing for Utd if it goes through. He'll come back to haunt Chelsea sooner or later. I wonder is this part of Rooney to Chelsea in the Summer?

They need more than Mata. A right back, a centre back, a left back, a central midfielder, all aswell as Mata.

The Premier League have many 'good' wingers. He's just one of the few who differ, it's the fact Chelsea are so poor (in truth) as to why a player like Juan Mata stands out. Do I think he's worldclass? No.. Do I think he's a good player? Yes... However the majority of Spanish players look a different class to our own. I wouldn't give him a price tag of 37m.

He'll do well with United but it's hardly like re-signing Ronaldo or Messi. I can name 10 Midfielders who are better technically and physically than Mata.

Just to defend my original point.

he will only do well with united coz there so crap and will make them look good they only had a hand full of good players chelsea are easily a better side if i had choice of making a side out of the united and chelsea squad would have more chelsea players in it.

The players have not settled with Moyes, majority of our fans blame him but its always the same when you takeover somewhere. Chelsea are not a better side, they have got good form and a manager who is used to their squad.

Juan Mata is exactly the type of signing we require and will help us correct things. Our defence is the problem!

Chelsea as a squad are aging and its only the 'chosen' one who's got them playing. Good team but not a great squad, they wouldn't be able to challenge for the title with Jose.

The 37m will come in handy for them because they lack a few areas.

Mr Torres was rumoured to be making a move back to the Spainish league, so I assume he will be safe and god help Rooney in another blue shirt.

and the man utd squad aint ageing and rubbish still say more chelsea players then man utd would be in my squad.

Go on bro, name who you would have out of each teams squad.

I think United would swing for me, though I am interested to see you prove your claim. :P

Well, it's gone through.

What do you guys think to his reasoning? "I joined Man Utd to win the Premier League". Well, it's hardly like you came from Crewe Alexandra is it? Besides, Chelsea have a much higher chance to win the title this year. But I can't blame him for leaving, he was being demonised by Mourinho wasn't he?

Mata wasn't a must to be honest. Nice to have, but they need to sort out the spine of the team.

I've been chuckling a way at the media reports on this, splashes like 'best player in the premier league' - Erm, I don't think so. I agree with SDA - They need to focus on getting a new defender, as Rio looks like he will be moving to the states. At 35 he's most definitely passed it and is part of the reason why United have been struggling, no it's not all Moyes (he needs time) but certain players who don't have what it takes.

For 35million - United could have got 3 players who would have made a huge difference.

If they lose RVP, having Juan will not mata (hehe) because as a playmaker, he relies on the powerful front line.
