Erik tan Hag's sacking has been on the cards for months. The Man Utd owners demand success, & unfortunately the Premier League Title has continued to elude them since season 2012/13.

Since then the PL title has been dominated by Chelsea & City rivals, Man City, so the owners of Man Utd are getting a little impatient.

Van Nistelrooy has taken over temporarily, however Utd are understood to be looking for a permanent appointment & one of those possible replacements is former England Manager Gareth Southgate.

Whoever takes charge will have a tough task to bring success back to a club who's team is regularly underperforming, considering the value of the squad is thought to be over £1Billion.

Whether the new man will get funds to rebuild the squad is a matter of conjecture. The funds will have to be quite extensive to attract some of the best players in the World to this famous club.

Big Sam, I think he goes too direct in more ways than one for United's liking. Although I admire your selection.

But I think the temporary appointment has already been taken up. How temporary we will have to find out.

Will they make a bold move for Pep, surely not, but you never know, in this day & age.

For Pep they'd need £1.5Billion he'd demand for recruitment.

Man United are in desperate need of direction from the top; What is their plan? What is their philosophy? What are the types of player they want to sign? Nobody really knew under Ten Hag and it's a big job for the manager to come in and solve everything.

Just look at us, when Stuart Maynard came in he didn't really change much he made some subtle changes but the main reason for our struggles was that the defence was in desperate need of better players. After 1 pre-season everything has seemingly clicked into place. It’s helped by that fact it’s evolution rather than revolution at Notts now, we have a clear identity and goal. I’ve no idea what the plan is at Man Utd.

Amorim, is by all accounts a very good coach, but he tends to play 3 at the back something United hadn’t planned for this season and he won’t have the luxury of a big transfer budget either when he inevitably will want to bring in his own players for his style.

Man Utd would do well to look at the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford in terms of strategy and planning. These are small clubs on the up, I can’t see the decline at Man Utd stopping just because they have a new manager.

So Man Utd have their man. He was the only candidate that they interviewed.

I wish him luck in his new position. He will definitely need it. Utd will have huge expectations that he can forge success for them.

It is also an eye opener that he hasn't been appointed Team Manager but First Team Coach.

Caretaker Head Coach, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, will now revert back to an assistant Coach.

So the continental style will continue to be practised at Man U. Probably a 3-4-2-1 that Notts also predominantly use.

The big six clubs in the land will all continue to have foreign coaches who they have all preferred in recent years.

There was a possibility that Gareth Southgate could have took the job but he wasn't approached.
