Morning all, I should have started this yesterday my days are all mixed up.

Well it’s New Years Eve and it looks like it will be a wet one for those out and about celebrating, I used to go to town to celebrate years ago but not now, we’ll probably be in bed but awake reading or watching telly. Mrs. T has this strange custom of opening the back door and front door, something to do with letting the old year out and the new year in, so she can do that while I lay snug in bed.

Have a great night and if you’re drinking don’t overdo it.

So we come to the last day of 2024. Notts will finish the year in a promotion place in third place.

This year has flown by once again. It seems the older you get, the faster the passage of time is.

Can remember as a child a day would seem to go on forever. The school day would seem so long, & there was always time to do whatever I wanted to do.

As far as the weather is concerned going into the new year, looks like it will be windy and wet into Wednesday morning, so batten down the hatches.

Good morning and Happy New Year to all my PoN friends, I hope there aren’t too many sore heads this morning, we had a nice night last night we stayed up and watched Jools Holland Hootmanhay programme as I particularly wanted to see The Boomtown Rats, one of my favourite groups from yesteryear.

A quiet day today, roast pork for dinner with a glass or two of wine then I’m on the wagon, no booze and a diet to try and loose the Christmas pounds I’ve put on.

Happy New Year everyone! I had an early night last night, still felt a bit rough suffering with my cold. My partner went out with some friends to celebrate and had a good night. I was tucked up in bed by 10 and honestly I didn't regret it!

Good news now, I've passed a late fitness test, I feel a lot brighter this morning so I'm on my way to Meadow Lane this afternoon!

Good afternoon, it’s blooming cold innit? I was out walking with Mrs. T this morning and slipped on some black ice, I’d have gone arse over *** if it hadn’t been for Mrs. T. grabbing hold of me, it was a close thing, I don’t want any broken bones, I’ve never broke a bone and don’t want to start now.

Good Evening everyone. It's been a very cold day today. Took the wife to the Dentist this morning,

Just got there in time due to so much frost on the car windows that had to be cleaned off. It was really thick and we had to wait from the heat of the engine to remove it.

Incidentally, It's been no higher than -1C all day here.

Snows forecast for Sunday. If it remains this cold we may get quite an accumulation of Snow. Hope that is not the case.

Another cold and crisp morning here with plenty of sunshine, but unfortunately the sunshine isn't having much effect.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing all day once again.

It's that time again to be thinking about taking down the Xmas decorations. We usually take them down before twelfth night on the sixth of January.

Lots do take them down just after new year, however, I've known people to keep them up after twelfth night.

Morning all, it was -2.5 overnight here with a very sharp frost, we’ve just been a walk to the shops and the pavements are a bit slippy, I’m paranoid about slipping and breaking something after a friend fell and ended up in hospital needing surgery from a broken ankle. Consequently we won’t be walking far today I’ll get on the elliptical exerciser this afternoon to get some exercise.

@Robbie it seems ages ago now when we took our tree etc. down, we don’t wait for the 12th night, once Christmas is done we generally take them down. Like you though we’ve known people keep them up until after 12th night which seems a bit pointless but each to their own,

Stepping outside when it's -2 at 7:30am to defrost the car has, very quickly, become my least favourite part of the day! Got to be done though, my dad's got a screen cover that is supposed to combat the frost so I'm going to pick it up off him over the weekend.

Even though it was a short week I'm glad it's Friday, I had a bit more time off than usual so getting back into the normal routine has been a struggle! Not much planned for the weekend for me, just meeting some friends for a curry on the Saturday evening. I'm not able to get to Notts for the Swindon match but hopeful of catching it on the TV.

I used to have a neighbour who kept bits of her Christmas decs up until about March! She was a older lady living alone but she said that her lights and sparkly decs shining made the dark evenings feel a bit brighter, quite sweet really.

@menzinho I bet you’ve got a garage full of stuff.

It always amazes me how many folk have garages but don’t put their cars in them, our son has double garage but neither he nor his wife park their cars in them.

Neither do our neighbours, I love it when I back my car out the garage and drive straight off because I don’t need to scrape the car, I give my neighbours a cheery wave as I pass them defrosting their cars on the drive. :waving:
