It seems Elon Musk is determined to have his say on British Politics, why he’s even interested I’ve no idea.

His latest meddling made me laugh, Nigel Farage came on the BBC and said having Musk supporting Reform made them “cool” a few hours later Musk says Farage should be replaced as Reform leader.

It seems Musk doesn’t like people to disagree with him and has ditched Farage because he disagreed with Musk’s view of Tommy Robinson. Well I don’t like Nigel Farage at all but I do agree with him about Tommy Robinson.

I can't stand either of them, but Elon Musk loves the spotlight and causing controversy. Every week, it seems he's doing something that would land most people in the loony bin. Declaring wars on X, threatening to sue companies for not advertising on X. The list goes on, but he won't be happy until he has more control over his ideas and imposes them on others.

Nigel Farage is good at what he does, but I don't trust him. His PR work is second to none, but his cringeworthy stance on leading politics into the ground and brainwashing people into thinking he's the right man to get the UK back on track is borderline scary. In this instance, Musk will have been baiting a response from Farage. I question the sanity of both, as neither really seems with it.

Probably due to a number of reasons.

The Labour party's interference in the American election. What a great move that was. Reap what you sow.

Musk has been a strong advocate for free speech and allowing all thoughts on his X platform, as long as they don't break the law. The UK government is a strong advocate for speech and thought suppression.

Those are 2 obvious ones. Sure there are more.

I’m not sure how the Labour Party interfered with their election apart from sending some delegates over to help the Democrats which I think political parties have always done, they certainly didn’t donate £100,000,000 which is what Musk is reported to be thinking of doing.

I don't think that a person becomes the richest man in the World by being "as mad as a box of frogs"

He obviously gathered such wealth by having a shrewd business acumen along with a sharp interlect.

Elon's rise is a very interesting story.

@Robbie anyone who says things like this must be deranged.

“America should liberate the people of Britain from their tyrannical government”

What are they going to do, invade us and overthrow the government?

The government was democratically elected what right has he (an American) have to tell us our government is tyrannical.

I know you aren’t a fan of this government but surely you have to admit this is wrong no matter what party is in government.

The man is a megalomaniac.

@super_ram I read that to Mrs. T and quick as a flash she said “well he stinks of corruption” :joker:

I'm not saying what they did isn't legal and indeed it happens often. However, it is incredibly stupid for the current UK government to actively send political volunteers to go over to the States and back the loser - especially when the winner is known to hold grudges. Incredibly ignorant move that will affect the UK as a whole, all for political point scoring games. You are beginning to the repercussions of that stupidity now.

Musk can't directly donate 100 million without breaking the law. If he is to do it, he'll likely do it the indirect and legal way that all the others do it.

I took it as tongue in cheek, which I'm pretty sure it is. I very much doubt Musk or Trump are drawing up plans for operation Sea Lion V2.

He has every right to express his opinion that our government is tyrannical, as much as you have the right as a Brit to criticise the incoming American government. There's plenty of source material both ways.

The difference is I’m not a mega millionaire member of a government with hundreds of thousands of followers, no one listens to me.

I’m not sure it was tongue in cheek, even if it was it’s not the sort of thing a decent politician should say, what if one of his crazed followers decided to follow that plan of action and tried to assassinate the prime minister or other members of the government?

Maybe you think that’d be a good thing, perhaps you think Trump and Musk are great and the world will be a better safer place when they take over in the US and they help Farage to form a government here. I don’t.

Time will tell.

Elon Musk's Grandmother was British. Musk could, if he wanted, apply for British Citizenship due to ancestry. So could Donald Trump for that matter.

Musk has family & business interests here, so he has every right, just as anyone else, to express an opinion.

Didn't Obama come to this Country in 2016 & try to influence the Brexit vote?

Didn't see anyone on the remain side complain about that.

And didn't we see Bill gates meeting with Starmer a few months ago. Was that tantamount to interfering?

Yet nothing said from the left about that..

As far as Labour having a mandate is concerned. They only got just over 20% of the total electoral vote. Hardly a mandate

I’d rather they stay in the US thanks.

I’ve no idea but now you mention Obama he was a proper statesman, how the American people can go from Obama to Trump in a few years beggars belief. Total polar opposites.

That may be true but that’s how things work until we change the electoral system it was ever thus for every incumbent Government they never have the majority of all the electorate.

I listen to you mate 😘😂

That is not how free speech and the right to an opinion works though. You're entitled to say whatever you want to say if you're a billionaire or skint.

Musk isn't a politician and isn't elected. I'm not sure what kind of title he gets if he starts this DOGE thing - but that hasn't started yet.

I don't agree with Musk and his ranting escapades. Things like his support for AfD is not something I'm on par with. However, I think him rustling up a few feathers and highlighting many things leaders want kept under guard, aka covered up, is a positive. Leaders like Trudeau, Macron and Stamer fully deserve their actions to be questioned thoroughly and if the traditional media refuse to do it, social media will (and is going to) replace it.

If Elon is ruffling a few feathers in the Government and ensuring that current issues of concern are being put into the public domain, it has to be a good thing.

He has certainly got the Country & Parliament talking. The government is under pressure to change course on a number of issues.

I'm sure questions to the PM will be interesting on Wednesday, & we will see how the PM deals with all the flack he's getting.
