We need to remember that until something is confirmed, it is never wise to speculate on unfounded rumours. It could be a mix of things, and in some cases, it's not always bad. We shall see what is what once the news is out, if anything does become official.

Michael Doyle looking for a job and JO'B would be an interesting duo 🤔

Thanks @Piethagoram it just shows how much notice I take, I’d never heard of them.

Rumours that the Saunders were seen at Wealdstone on Saturday...

Perhaps they were scouting?

Absolutely, Jim O'Brien would be a great assistant, I feel. Michael Doyle, no.

Doyle wants to be a manager, and he showed his true colours jumping with Ian Burchnall when they left for Forest Green Rovers. It wasn't a move that made sense for him, but we have benefitted from him leaving. As a person, Doyle is a great guy, but both his roles held us back.

At the time, I thought Doyle was a sensible decision to support Ian burchnall but over time I realised just how better Ryan Harley and a more experienced assistant makes.

I actually have always felt Stuart Maynard would have been better supported if the Saunders brothers were just coaches. Allowing for someone with EFL experience to come in and offer the guidance Maynard could thrive with.

Having done a bit of digging they definitely weren’t at Accrington… No idea what the reason was but there’s no way Stuart Maynard told them, “I think you both need to scout this Wealdstone v Hartlepool match” on the same day Notts were playing. There's almost nothing to be gained from it, so it makes think something is not quite right here...

Just when everything was seemingly going well, this January has rocked up and decided to give us some unneeded challenges. I guess we just have to wait and see how this all plays out but given how Stuart always talks about “the management team”, if it were to happen and they do depart, losing two coaches mid-season is far from ideal.

All I really know about them is that they're very highly regarded and that our coaching team really does work as a team. It would certainly be a blow.

However, the Wealdstone talk doesn't make sense. Wealdstone already have a manager, and even if they were to take over there, they're a part-time team and pretty likely to be in the National League North/South next season, so hardly a great career move. Their opponents, Hartlepool, appointed Lennie Lawrence (remember him?) a couple of months ago and he's already brought a couple of coaches in.

So it was probably mistaken identity, or they were scouting a hot target. Wealdstone's equaliser was scored by a bloke called Boldewijn, worth a look?
