It's a shame that all those tunnels were not put to good use. A small underground system to service the City & adjoining towns would have been a godsend today. 

Those who made the decision to close it obviously didn't look very far forward in their thinking.

Victoria station & it's adjoining infrastructure was a fantastic piece of engineering & it's demolition was a great loss for future generations.

I remember catching a train at the High Level Station on Arkwright Street (or was it London Road) and getting off at Victoria Station to do some train spotting, I’d be quite young but my brother accompanied me he was five years older.
