Luker loaned to Notts County - Luton Town FC

20-year-old sent to Meadow Lane for the season

Another transfer in to be excited about. Jayden Luker gained a very good reputation during his loan spell with Grimsby.

Looks like Notts have acquired two players today in positions that Notts were keen to fill. Players that they believe will strengthen the squad.

I'm really pleased to see these two additions today. If Notts can bring in another striker the Club and the fans will be rocking.

Further depth to the centre of midfield. I am a bit surprised by the signing, even as a loan, but I welcome it.

The competition in this area does need to be used to make sure only those in form start, with the exception coming from suspensions, injuries, or tactical choices; it further gives Martin Paterson something different, so that will be interesting to see.

A field where dreams become reality.

Another promising signing, albeit one who needs to deliver a bit more consistently according to some Grimsby fans. But he's still young and has time on his side. Slightly disappointed his parents didn't call him Luke.

We've certainly got options in attacking areas now.

Just an out and out another #9 needed.... I still feel the Portugese will come back with a EUR 750k for Jatta and he will go. Traore, Edwards to be listed? Cisse and Reynolds loans?

I'm a tad unsure as to how this signing will play out, I feel the priority for this position is a Didzy/Crowley replacement and it's asking a lot of a 20 year old to be this... One positive is that because he's he's under 21 he won't count towards the player registration limit of 22.

So we could still bring in a proven No.10 but given the number of players who can play as attacking midfielders now (Luker, Jones, Grant, Edwards, Jarivs, Kouhyar, Reynolds) surely one would have to go out before we sign another otherwise we're totally overloaded and wasting wages.

I’m not sure how much game time Tom Iorpenda will get with the first team. It’s good to have players fighting for spots, but having too many in the same place doesn’t always help. Some fans moan, but we’ve got enough midfielders already.

Blimey two signings in a day, hopefully this will shut up some of the moaners. Lots of options for MP now we need a striker. 🥅

I don't think we will see a pound for pound replacement for Crowley now. I think that Notts will be satisfied with the amount of cover they have in that position. Whether the cover in that position is as good as Crowley only time will tell.

As far as replacing Didzy, how can you replace him with a similar amount of skill & experience without opening the chequebook? I think it will be very difficult. But I do expect Notts to recruit a striker before the transfer window closes.
