Who do we think it comes down to for automatic promotion?

I reckon it's 3 from the current top 5.

Salford haven't quite got what it takes I don't think, very one dimensional. Walsall are bottling it. I can't see anyone else making a charge that would catch us up - it's probably going to take far more than 78 points this season. Colchester looked most likely at one point but not now.

That means we need to finish higher than 2 from Bromley, Swindon, MK and Cambridge. We're way better than Swindon. MK are underperforming given their squad. Cambridge I'm not sure about - if Saturday turns out to be more than a blip for them, so much the better.

I think Bromley will go up, also MK Dons and hopefully Notts, Chesterfield would be a good shout to win the playoffs.

Having said that I’m sure there will be lots of twists and turns until the end of the season. Having kept our best players and strengthened the squad and IF we can keep relatively injury free, it surely could be our year. 🤞

Best goal differences is often a useful clue....that's why I'd agree with MK and Bromley, although I'd love to see both or either of them fade away. The third spot would probably go to that team which can maintain form down the run-in.

If that's to be us, I think we'd need to keep clear of injuries. We have depth, but we need the likes of Jatta, Jones and a good CM pairing to play and hit top form to have the best chance.

I think it's far too early to make a definitive choice with 16 games still to go. Every single game is going to be like a Cup final. Every single game is going to be tough no matter where teams stand in the league.

Notts have seven home games & nine away games left. We have three away games on the bounce at the end of March going into April.

The big positive is that we are nine points ahead of eighth placed Chesterfield. So that's a good cushion to have.

The other positive is that some of the teams in the top seven still have to play each other. Notts still have to play Bromley, Cambridge, Walsall, & Salford. Lots of things can happen before the end of the season.

I keep thinking Bromley will fade, just on the basis when they’ve been in the National League, they’ve always finished high in the table but never top 2/3. However, it’s not happening yet, we need to beat them to start a wobble!

I still think MK will finish top 3 just on the basis of insane squad depth (Crowley doesn’t even start for them!) and a manager who’s got two League 1 promotions to his name.

Swindon could go either way with mad Ian Holloway and I think Cambridge will be up there as will, their form since playing us has actually been really solid. Hopefully Salford will fall away like you say, but they always look excellent against!

Barnet would be my team to potentially mount a late charge, I won’t be surprised if they finish in the play-offs but top 3 is probably a tad out of reach now. Walsall look like repeating last season’s drop off except instead of autos to play-offs, it’s play-offs to mid-table this time.

I'd love to think you're right. However, we were 2nd in the league , this time last season, then blobbed it in the Play Offs against a streetwise and physical wimbledon. Then again, we are a more streetwise and physical team ourselves this season. That active ingredient has been been accentuated by Patto, who has players like Robbo playing much more aggressive, breaking up opposition play, and effecting the game. An element which Maynard was missing at this level. But Ihope you are right. I hope we keep this run going, with three points at Bromley next week.

Yes there’s lots of water to go under Trent Bridge before we know for sure but hey we can dream can’t we? I just hope the dream doesn’t turn into a nightmare, at least I think we can be fairly certain we won’t be relegated.

I think Bromley will fall into the playoffs, it's easy for me to say this knowing that their form is two wins and 3 draws in the last five. Yet, I have this horrible feeling that Cambridge United will overtake them, only for MK Dons to steal it with a handful of remaining games. Realistically, I think there's only five teams now competing for the League Two title and one is us.

Notts are in a good position to push forward, the table could easily change and I do feel somewhat like I am overlooking Crewe Alexandra. I just feel them and Chesterfield are fighting now for the playoffs.

I can't see Salford City making the automatics, and I think they will struggle to make the playoffs.

How the league is unfolding is adding to the match day experience, because we have our eyes on our own results but we are glued to a dozen or so other teams that are giving it their all too.

Our odds at the bookies have come in a lot, about evens now and I'm pretty sure you could get 5/1 after our last bad run. We're 7/1 for the title, tempting ...

I hope to believe that another 4 wins will see Notts assured of a playoff place, which I think should be the first priority.

Once a place in the playoffs are assured a further four wins giving us 85 points in total should be enough for a promotion place

I think Cambridge & MK Dons will be promoted. Hopefully we will get the third place. I think Bromley will be in the playoffs.

Last 4 years 3rd place were:

Bradford 78pts

Mansfield 86pts

Northampton 83pts

Bristol Rovers 80pts

So yes 85 points should do it, maybe 83 as this year is very competitive unlike the run away year of Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield.

Is a further 22 points achievable?

6 wins, maybe.

4 draws, fingers very crossed.

Only 3 defeats.

It's squeaky time 😝
