Well they might wait until the season is over, if true this sounds similar to when Ian Burchnall left for Forest Green Rovers.

Exactly, May 2022 revisited. But how well did that turn out? Montague added Maca, Scott and Austin. Found a manager to play Nemane over DKE. Was soon to add JJ and Bostock. He’d recruited players who are now, have been, or are soon to be Championship players - Maca, Ruben, Baldwin. Our 4th NL season was a masterclass, why can’t our 4th L2 season be the same.

I’m not concerned about this news, apart from the possible impact it has on this season.

I can see why there are rumours - he was there before and is doing well at a top League 2 club.

I hope it is just paper talk though. I would be disappointed in him if he did attempt a Burchnall manoeuvre. The transfer windows might not have been great, but we had a strong enough basis to allow MP to rehabilitate himself as a head coach after the near-disaster at Burton. I hope he appreciates that and doesn't bail at the first opportunity.

He will probably go if he's offered the job.

You can never tell in football, we have seen managers move on because they have done well and only for to turn out to be a disaster of a decision. He came here having something to prove, his last club's supporters didn't rate him and helped spread fear amongst our support.

I would hope he would see we are proving to be a good fit, and he's well supported.

He has a chance, much like Luke Williams and Ian Burchnall. It's closer to Williams in truth, he played for Burnley and has connections there and I don't tend to think it works but doing well will attract interest. It beats having several managers being sacked, and if he does go maybe we'll get nice compo.

A field where dreams become reality.

Let’s hope all this talk of Paterson going doesn’t affect the players, we still have a good shot at promotion either automatic or play offs, it would be better if all minds including Paterson’s were focused on that.

It’s just another nail in the annually long coffin of Notts imploding when it matters. Only once in recent times have we not succumbed to a level of failure when Luke got us over the line. I think it’s time we all took a long pee on a corner flag and release this curse that keeps on killing our end of season chances of success. If it’s not players with a conveyor belt of season ending injuries it’s stupid red and yellow cards, followed by incessant online speculation about managers being lured away from us. Couldn't imagine what today feels like for a Bromley, MK Dons or Salford fan, 3 plastic clubs enjoying everything that they have blown the bank to achieve. Maybe we will get lucky somehow, I fear another season in where we’ve been for most of the last 30 years watching another set of plastic franchises waltz past us again.

Cheer up @Paris Sandwich Man you never know what will happen in the last two games, Jimmy Greaves said “it’s a funny old game” and it certainly is, don’t give up hope, to coin another phrase “it’s not over till the fat lady sings”.
