It was great to see Meadow Lane full to the rafters & the resulting atmosphere that such a large crowd created

Would you like to see the owners invest in improvements to Meadow Lane to increase the Capacity. Would it be possible with the present structures. Would it be cost effective?

No, I think the stadium is adequate for the level we are and would also be if we moved up a division.

If there’s money to invest I would like to see it invested in the playing squad, let’s get it right on the field and worry about the stadium after.

I love Meadow Lane, but football is about getting people through the turnstiles - advertising banners don't enjoy the game so much and don't join in with the singing and cheering.

When the new Stadium was built it was designed to hold near on 20K. New safety rules have come in since then reducing the capacity.

The club has invested in two Hybrid pitches over the last few years which must have cost £millions. Updating the Stadium to increase the capacity would be a good investment for the club.There is also room to fill the corners with seats.

I’m probably in a very small minority of fans who share my opinion but I actually think our stadium is too big, or you could say equally it’s arranged badly. For the majority of the season, it’s basically a 3 stand stadium, so we never get that cauldron of noise or atmosphere like you do at smaller grounds when it’s close to a sell-out. We get a handful of teams that bring 1,500-2000 fans but the majority of the time the Jimmy Sirrel Stand is basically empty.

Yesterday the turnout was impressive but it was more of a one-of, I think our average attendance has hovered around 10,000 (which is great) but it also means we’ve still got 7000/8000 empty seats most weeks.

The overall average for the season has gone up to around 10,500, & with the capacity reduced to 16,500 nowadays that makes room for around 6,000.

If Notts want to fill those seats there's always a kid for a quid or two to encourage families to attend or special offers to attract new supporters,

We need to find a way to allow the flow of fans to leave at a more natural pace, my anxiety goes through the roof when everyone is rushing. Against Barnet, an old man pushed me three times for no reason when I was struggling to move, and I turned to him to ask where he felt I could go and that there wasn't any space. The annoyance is that he was by my side, and 100% just pushing is way through people. He wouldn't like it back, but I wouldn't dream of being that rude.

Yet, I fear one day these ignorant types will cause me to dislocate my leg. I have to be very, very careful and whilst I am legitimately entitled to exiting in a different means. I don't act on it, and if I am able I will leave without using that alternative access.

The Pavis can filter out quite well, but the KOP is awful when it is busy. The steps are very iconic, but I think it's an area that could be explored.

The Tea bar, they do need bringing into modern times they are stuck in a late 80s fashion even though the rebuild was in the early 90s. If the club acted on this, instead of other means they could increase the money they take in.

So,

Improve how fans can exit the stadium safely.
Modernise the tea bars.
At the very least, add the advertising boards along the Pavis Stand too.
Repaint the steps in areas where they are slippy.
Put in disabled seating in the lower kop, we have safe standing now and disabled fans deserve to be able to choose KOP.
Bring disabled toilets and general improvements in this area.

I think it's great we're having this discussion at all - it's not so long ago that we were struggling to fill 25% of the ground.

The capacity is adequate for our needs right now, everyone who wanted a ticket against the cider quaffers got one. All the same, I'd like to see our existing seats filled (and not covered by adverts or tarpaulin) before there are any thoughts about filling in corners.

Standing could be one way of doing it. It's possible to have two or three fans per seat in standing areas, so that could add a few thousand to capacity (while hopefully allowing us to offer cheaper tickets). To do that, the club would need to add smaller steps between the existing steps, and I don't know if you can do that for structural reasons.

One other issue is the concourses. There might be scope fo expand them behind the Kop, but the Sirrel stand is difficult because it backs onto the street. Even if it can be done, some seats will always be unavailable due to the away block.

Our lack of a proper dedicated away end creates all kinds of problems. It's a shame we couldn't use the Meadow Lane end for it as the stand is a perfect size; unfortunately, that's a non-starter due to its location.

its hell when we are over 12k and it does become uncomfortable the higher it gets. i love seeing meadow lane filled, but the ground was redesigned in the 90s and even then it was kept traditional. that is not a bad thing, there are loads of quirks and its what makes it a great stadium but everyone feels on top of each other when the kop is busy.

toilets become far worse than they would be otherwise, you are lucky to be served at half time so you have to leave early to just get a drink without queuing for ages. even the use of cards only has not sped things up all that much.

some people said the navi made a mistake by creating its fan venue, but the nest has showed that there is still the demand for fans to have somewhere to go before and after. this last saturday, there was huge amounts of fans just standing near the main gates, and lots walking around. again its a good thing, but if you dont time your entrance well, it is a swarm of hell.

There are plenty of home tickets left for the Chesterfield game - maybe 1,500 - especially in the family stand, I guess due to the kick-off time. So we've sold 'only' 13k to home fans. That's a pretty good effort in a few days and we'll probably sell out, but they've not been snapped up which suggests a 20k stadium is still more than enough. As everyone has said it's just the configuration. If they could upgrade the Sirrel somehow so that more seats could be used and there was a large segregated away end, and maybe the corner nearest the Kop filled in, that would be great.

I'd like the safe standing expanded to more rows in the Kop. I know some people who like to sit would be displaced but it would enhance the atmosphere even more I think.
