Port Vale vs Notts County

Port Vale, interesting game. What do I make of this?

It's hard to tell, it seems the early signs suggest we might be better away from home. I'll take a draw here and I think it's very likely, though Vale can and perhaps might come off better. I just hope to see some comments here to give me an insight to the match, as it will be weird not knowing myself.

COME ON YOU PIES!

Ps. Folks by all means feel free to start the match thread, I'd appreciate it since I will be away for two weeks but once back PoN will be back to full steam.

Blooming eck! The gaffers leaving us to it. Happy hols @notts-joe, hope you get a bit warmer weather than at present.

I can see @super_ram sitting in a deck chair with a knotted hankie on his head and @GrannyPie with a kiss me quick hat.

Have a good time you lot, we want a full report on your return.

Sorry back on topic, it will be a tough game best I think we'll get is a draw.

Thanks Mr H,I'll try and (bore)keep you all updated.

I'm a little bit worried for Notts ,what with injuries and suspensions but,as the saying goes, when the going gets tough the tough get going.A win for Notts.

For me if Haydn Hollis plays then we are in for a long long afternoon as Tom Pope will crucify him, if not then I reckon we could scrape a win.

Fingers crossed the ball watching one doesn't start

I've edited this thread to turn it into the match thread, hope that's ok @notts-joe, it seemed daft making another thread.

Good to see Adams back, it'll be interesting to see how Harrad plays if he comes on.

Yes it sounds like we rode our luck big time and are indebted to Carroll again, what a great signing, who needs Bart eh?

I'd be interested to hear the views of anyone who attended.

Unlikely win and we'll take that. Performance? Plenty of spirit and effort and a lot of luck. We need to impose ourselves a lot more. We let teams dictate the game, OK you expect that away but not at home. We can beat Bristol City and we will if we add game control to what we have shown so far.

Been viewing the Port Vale forum, they are very complimentry about our performance today, Not!! Love it when they hate us, well done Shaun

Sat at home and listened to the game, but from Colin and Deans commentary, it sounded like we are becoming a side that won't just allow our pants to be pulled down.

Last season, games like this would have been an absolute battering, and I have to say that in terms of chances they still appear to be. Can stats lie?

Happy for the lad Noble, the fans I chat to up here rate him, and maintain that a long run in the side will do him the world of good. He seems to be improving from a player short on confidence who goes missing to becoming one of our better performers. Let's hope he continues to improve in the "White n Bla"...

So far a big thumbs up to both Shaun and especially Greg, I have to admit to wanting him nowhere near our club... I hope he/they continue to bring us stability and a little success/improvement and prove me wrong.

This isn't the best Notts side I have seen, but they might just become one of our best "teams". My anticipation level is rising and I am optimistic now, and an 11th to 16th place finish seems more than achievable... who knows with more visitations from lady luck????? Would we be dreaming of somewhere just outside the play offs....

I'm not yet convinced this will be our best season. Alot of things point to issues further down the line. The fitness and 'legs' of our midfield for one. The inability to control a game, wingers who don't contribute to the levels of previous players. Grealish was never going to be bettered, but JCR should have been bettered.

Don't get me wrong. After last seasons showing anything is better than nothing. Let's come back at Xmas and see how we are doing. For now every 3 or 1 point is a step away from relegation later down the road. Secure that and then we're talking.

Very awkward at getting data, strangely previous years I haven't experienced this but I have manage to get the scores.

So impressed with the win, I thought Vale would score but we took another.

Well played Notts.
