Leyton Orient V Notts

It would be very nice to see Notts continue their very impressive away form today and I don't see any reason why they can't.Notts have shown they can come back and do well after early set backs as against the blades. They also showed how to keep a lead(which should have been greater)against Oldham.Of course the run will end sooner or later but not today I feel.1-0 to Maggies. As for the Rams I'm hoping home advantage will see us through to the next round of the cup.Looking forward to watching Oldham v Liverpool tomorrow.

I have a good feeling about today as Leyton fans seem a little concerned about their team, tactics and the way they defend from set pieces. I think we should be aiming to put the game beyond any doubt, so I hope we make the most of our chances as I know the football goes we could be punished by Orient who are no push overs. They've had some good results against top sides, so if we struggle they could pinch the points.

Hopefully a good game!

Will be important for us to make it to a year without any away defeats, something the players can reflect on at home.

What happened to him? I just got on. Looking for updates.

sounded like he was took out, shud of been sent off. unsure as i think an elbow was mentioned but it was his head that took an impact.

Strong challenge but I didn't hear, I thought he was okay to continue when they mentioned Bandages but sadly not the case. I really hope it isn't serious, he's someone we need to have starting. Nothing taken away from Fabien, he did well but Bart is a key player. Jeff pulled a goal back though that was just as far as we could go. Need to make our chances count! :)

Next time Notts

We lost, so typically there's been a complete overreaction on Facebook and Twitter. I need to rant a bit so please bear with me ::)

I do wonder how many fans have only been going since the munto days, because they seem to expect miracles from the football club. It's almost as if the fact we aren't loaded hasent sunk in with some people.

Today, we lost our first away game in 22 - every single one of those games was under Keith Curle. This is the first time we've really been on a dodgy run yet suddenly people are calling for Curle's sacking. I personally find that absolutely ludicrous. I'm sorry but if we leep sacking managers at our current rate we'll get absolutely nowhere because we'll end up with no money whatsoever.

We cant afford a 30 goal a season striker that everyone craves and we cant afford to sign big name players. We're not Portsmouth, but if we keep hiring and sacking managers, bring in a big name striker on a huge wage with mediocre gates - we could soon become Portsmouth!

Its no secret we want to be challenging near the top but the margins in this league are so small. If we had won another few games that we've drawn we'd easily be up there. We're 8 points off the play-offs with 2 games in hand. The next two away to Hartlepool and Portsmouth. Anything less than maximum points would be a huge dissapointment but we cant just keep sacking managers for the sake of it.

What do we do? Sack this manager, bring someone else in, enjoy the honeymoon period while it lasts then sack him once he loses a few and start the cycle again.

We need to stick by Curle. He's already proved he can do the job, its about time we showed some loyalty to a manager. If we dont make the play-offs yes it'd be a dissapointment but its hardly the end of the world is it? It's not like the club wont be there to support next season. But if we sacked as many managers and brought as many players as some fans seem to demand then that could soon change!

This club owes its very existance to the Trew family, can you blame him for not wanting to put anymore money in due to the lack of support he's recieved?

I just wish the fans could stop whinging, be positive, support the team, manager and owner. One thing I dont miss is the fans mentality before the munto years. There wasent the hysteria every time we lost because we expected it, but we just enjoyed supporting our club because we were just thankful to have it.

I'm sorry to go on. If anyone's still reading this then I take my hat off to you, I just needed a good rant!

Absolutely right WeymouthPIE.No doubt the same thing is happening about Derby. We lost 3-0 at home to Blackburn and on the radio it sounded like we never got going.Florists also lost 3-0 at home. Will they sack their manager so soon after appointing him.You never know! The thing is you've had a wonderful away run.Start another away run,win the games in hand and pick more points up at home and silence the fickle critics.

PS Weymouth put your hat back on and accept my applause for a really good, thoughtful post(as ever).

I can understand some of the raw emotion after all football is a very passionate sport, it's hard to let that type of feeling go easily so I expect to see some reactions based on the moment.

The thing I don't get is why some fans have to remain negative, okay it's fair to have a little rant and share some disappointment but it's carried onto our next match where a fresh start should be given. Part of being a supporter is accept whatever happens, we certainly need to try to be more positive. I'd question any fans commitment who couldn't understand that. It's such an important part of being a fan to be able to accept whatever outcome.

Fabian did fine, though I feel Bart's experience may of allowed things to be different. I'm certainly not putting any blame on his shoulders as it sounded like he kept us in with a chance.

With regards to Keith Curle, I wished I had given more of a chance in the first place. I recall saying some negative things about him, as I were concerned about his appointment but he did well. As I said above, it's fair for a little moan but then you get on with it and I did. I admitted I was wrong to some work colleges at the time. I don't feel he should be dismissed, I think we should give him more time. If Mr Trew or Mr Rodwell was to sack him now, I firmly believe that added pressure would be applied to the new manager and of course the board for not sticking with him.

It hurts me deeply that our crowd is dwelling as it's been very nice to see more going since munto. I do understand the concerns about the lack of money, the expense but I don't believe that's the full reason behind it. I think some of our fans only want to see winning football, it's a shame because football at this level is special and the support does go along way.

I agree with you James, It's an enjoyable rant mate and it's something which adds to this site. If someone doesn't agree with me, you or I don't agree somebody else it's apart of being a supporter. It's nice to be able to discuss matters :)

Now I've ranted! LOL

Good rants on here. I've been a fan for 50 years and seen everything from the depths to the heights. I think the Munto days have given some fans unrealistic expectations.

It would be stupid to sack Curle we just went almost a year without losing away for God's sake. Some people expect us to win every game. We are Notts County not Man Utd.

As fans we should support the team win or lose not moan at the first setback.

The game was ok today. shame about the injury. Roll on the next game.

Thanks Super-Ram and Notts-joe - sorry to set you off mate haha. Your absolutely spot on with what you say. I actually almost feel sorry for the people that really strongly want Keith Curle out because I dont think they're ever happy. I wont name any names but certain people on other sites just love to complain - its as if they enjoy it when we lose because it gives them an opportunity to complain.

I, like many people at the time was furious with the sacking of Martin Allen, although over time I've realised he was very good at pulling cotton wool over our eyes. Lovely man and you couldnt't fault his passion one bit, but tactically he probably wasent the best.

Plenty of eyebrows were raised when Keith was appointed but he soon set about proving us wrong. At the end of the season I held my hands up and said he'd proved me completely wrong.

Some people seem to think differently though, and simply refuse to allow Curle to win them over which is a real shame because I think he has the pottential to be a brilliant manager given the time and support.

So nice to hear the voice of reason on here. When Brian Clough took over the reins at Derby we actually finished one place lower in the league at the end of his first full season but we went on to win the 2nd division(2nd tier)and then division 1(now the premiership)I'm not saying Curle is another Clough but to hear some of the critisism you'd think Notts were 10 points adrift at the bottom of your league and doomed to relegation.Unfortunately we live in an 'I want it now and I can't wait' society.

Good Job weren't Preston fans our we'd be going mental at Charlie MacDonald for this and saying he did it on purpose. (The BBC Match Report pic doesn't look good either)

Just a yellow card but having seen the foul on the Magpie Player highlights it should of been red. He didn't need to go in with any challenge at least in my opinion, as Bart hand two hands on the ball well before he was near to making a challenge.

Wow, this site is slightly more balanced than MAD that's for sure.

I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but I actually cringe at some of the posts on there and it leaves me feeling very uneasy, knowing that our owners will see them.  What a thankless task it must feel at times.

The attendances are concerning.  Crowds are slowly going down after the false Munto peak.  I guess this was to be expected, but I'd hoped more had got the bug and would keep going.  I'm happy that Mr Trew responded to tell us that he is here to stay, but I think some of his comments were misconstrued and some of our fans felt that he was having a go at them personally.  Perhaps an extra sentence to say that he appreciates those that do attend would have been wise, but I get where he is coming from.

It's a catch 22 situation.  Lower crowds mean less income means less quality in the squad, leads to lower crowds.  Our owners are astute enough to know that home form is key to attracting fans and they must be concerned at the home form, but after putting in 12 million do they not deserve more of us to stick with it?  Not sure I know the answer.  We live in difficult financial times and football comes under the umbrella of entertainment.  Let's just hope our home form will now take a turn for the better!

ps.  I don't actually get to attend many games for personal reasons, but I do pay for someone to attend home and away so I feel I'm entitled to have my say on it!

It makes me uneasy at times and I'm more select with what I actually do read these days. It's mainly facebook, twitter and here I focus on. (The odd BBC and This is Nottingham visit)

I'm one of those people who believes fans are fans regardless if they attend games, some tend to forget that not everyone can. My mother is disabled and feels it's awkward for her to attend matches, I would gladly push her but she feels that isn't fair on me etc. (she's still a fan)

Don't worry, we're not here to pass judgement but to chat.

Thank you for joining us :)

Thank you for the welcome.  I perhaps didn't need to add the 'ps' but I've been attacked by people who know I can't get to the games on other sites, so I was maybe a bit defensive!  Good to have another messageboard to choose from.

I can relate, so no worries! We can all be defensive at times myself included. :)

Good to have another messageboard to choose from.

Thank you, we're very hopeful that we can offer something different that fans will find useful.

i agree with the posts. i much prefer the respect fans give each other on here. i have joined other message boards and left soon after due to some of the things said. how people could run a site with that on is beyond me.

i didn't see or hear anything of the match (too busy picking up some of my son's birthday presents, lol)....i can't believe what i have read. What a state....i can't believe it was a yellow! disgraceful!

We're aiming to keep this site friendly place for everyone to chat and contribute. Some fans can make it to games and some can't(for whatever reason). We are all still fans. It would be nice to get to more games myself but we don't always have the money for us all to go. I am hoping that the attendances pick up as it gets warmer because some fans seem to go more then as they are not sat out in the cold and wet weather as much.
